It really doesn't matter if SE tells the players where the server is or not, they will most likely find out within a few hours of it going live lol. And if the latency is really going to increase even further if you are further away from the datacentre, then SE really needs to get their priorities straight.

Aussies have been getting the short end of the stick for a long time. Our SE store only has digital items for purchase, for one.

And if we can know BEFORE the move, at least we can transfer our characters to the Japanese DCs and make friends there as soon as possible.

I'm already on a jp server, i would just love to be on english speaking server with actual decent latency. I currently get around 225 or so latency with wtfast. If that is going to get worse, then i dont think i am even going to bother touching the US servers anymore lol.

Thank you to Yoshida-san and the entire team behind FFXIV. I look forward to playing on the shiny new world servers with additional features as mentioned, especially larger inventory and cross world friend lists and relate features.

This kind of continued investment both of money, but also the huge personal investments of time and effort by the development and infrastructure management team, continue to impress upon me why FFXIV, SE and the team behind the game deserve continued loyalty and support.

Chicago seems popular for a central location for other games. Also remember SE has offices in Quebec, low dollar, and tax breaks. Which means financially it could be better for them to move inside the city if they found a facility.

I could live with a week if A) inventory is truly fixed and B) players who meet housing requirements can get one. While loading screens aren't optimal I don't find them a detriment to my game play.
