As of level 36 your sleep spell is now an AoE - so 10 guys can quickly be cut to a manageable number of active combatants.

This is a very important point, because some of the BLM job quests between 50 and 60 become nearly impossible as well if you don't Sleep some of the mobs while you kill stuff off.
