I don't think SE is interested in Time Mage. It was a no brainer in XI with the Wings expansion and they didn't do it there either. It's been a long requested job in XI and XIV.

There have been a bunch of threads like this, all being debunked in a way. Plus SE has stated the AST is XIVs version of Time Mage.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
This is probably an unpopular opinion but I don't think the game needs a Time Mage at all, and am somewhat against it being added. We already have space and time spells being represented by AST, and comets and meteors are already present in LBs. What would a Time Mage bring to the game exactly?
Well, I have plenty of faith in SE to come up with something cool and unique. This is probably an unpopular opinion but I don't think the game needs a Time Mage at all, and am somewhat against it being added. The upcoming redmage isn't a mix of black and white magic, it's something totally unique. We don't even know if it'll come with any healing skill (probly... tho). So I don't see any problem in having a few spell here and there taken by the Astro.
There are plenty of new spells they could come up with.
I'd like to see Time Mage and they could bring back some classic spell and rework them to give the Time Mage unique utility.
Float - Allows Party members to avoid ground based AOE for 10s. ie. Patches of ice that cause heavy or place ice damage dot. Pools that cause bleed or poison, ect.
Stop - Enemy completely freezes for 5s. ie. Charged Actions do not stop they just pause giving time to avoid or prepare for hit.
Teleport - Aetherial manipulation
Reflect - Magic based Radiant Shield
Vanish - Target drops to the bottom of the enmity list.
Reset - Removes all detrimental debuffs and all beneficial buffs. To be used in emergencies. 15% chance of resetting target's cooldowns.
Reverse - Damage taken restore HP instead at 25% potency.
Banish - Time Mages main dps spell. ie Stone, Ruin, Malfic.
The main issue is how it will fit with the healer's HoT and Mitigation balance which is what makes the time mage unlikely as a healer. I can see it being a dps with high utility.

Time Mage is obviated by Astrologian. Astrologians are *really* Time/Space Mages because they use spells that alter both.
Aka either too good, or too awful.
The problem with Time Mage is that literally all their spells besides Float are in the game on other classes (mostly AST), and Float doesn't make sense as a skill to use frequently, nor is it enough to build a whole job around.
i dont know riran ex wouldve been amazing if float was a thing, the banish idea is cool too, Age could be reused and simply det down the target.
Lot's of stuff that should be cleared up and pointed out.
Dark Knight never got Demi in FFXI:
http://ffxiclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Knight
Also Gravity is the new name for Demi (sort of like how Libra is the new name for Scan):
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Gravity_(ability)
And Graviga is the new name for Quarter:
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Graviga
Astrologian's have the Gravity spell along with a lot of time/space themed spells and abilities like Time Dilation, Lightspeed, and Celestial opposition. They even have Haste but it's The Arrow card.
According to lore, Astrologian's heal by rewinding time to a point where a person was healthy; as if they were never harmed in the first place.
Even their lvl 60 job quest has them fighting a boss that casts Celestial Stasis, which is the new name of Galaxy Stop from FF Tactics: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Celestial_Stasis
Astrologian is FFXIV's version of Time Mage.
