Why are summoners so neglected?

I'm sorry, but no just no. It's not even game breaking, not a new skill.... if anything WHM's Stoneskin II should be more of a shock then the Egi Glamour system. We should have gotten new pets period!! Or just scrap that and go w/ something new like the trance system over Egi's period lol.

While I don't agree as a whole it was "neglected" but more of, just sorta strewn everywhere rather then trying to be completely cohesive. In no way do I think it's anymore privileged over any other job.

No other job(except MNK kettles and emperor fists which aren't even features) has a bonus, exclusive feature attached to them out of all jobs in the game. Not even SCH. How do you not see this????

In all fairness, Magic-Mal has a point. Plenty of people have been asking for a glamour system for the various pet classes and whilst it certainly took a long time for SMN to get their version despite it being intended earlier it is still more than what MCH and SCH have. This also isn't FFXI, so SMN is completely different to SMN in that particular game. Much like SAM is going to be different to how SAM was handled in FFXI. I believe this is the case with NIN as well?

I actually never mentioned FFXI, so not sure where you got that idea from. I actually only said anything about FFIX, and how there was precedence for Trance modes from games like that in my earlier posts.

I'm not comparing Summoner here to Summoner in FFXI. But I still personally think Summoner as a whole just wasn't that cohesive here period, just because it felt like they were going in one direction one minute, then BAM go into another one next expansion. Just how I feel about that though.

The only reason SMN's even got the glamour system to begin with though, was because they finally came out and said "We're sorry, but we can't/won't do new Egi's was an actual job skill/spell." So that's what they ended up giving SMN's to try and appease those who were miffed over no new Summons for Summoner. Which makes sense.

On the patch that implemented the carbuncle glamour option, it was the very first thing I unlocked when the servers came back online. In all honesty? The quest explanation was... disappointing. Here I was hoping that someone found a way for us to summon more than Ifrit-egi, Garuda-egi, and Titan-egi, but nope. When we call "Carbuncle" as a Summoner, it isn't really Carbuncle. It's still one of the same three egi that we're always had, just with a different "coat of paint." That means if we ever get to summon the egi form of Leviathan, Ramuh, and Shiva we won't be seeing them using associated water, lightning, and ice elements for their attacks. This was really the bare minimum solution they could have come up with.

Also this is something I've mentioned elsewhere, but as cool as it was to watch Summoner unleash Deathflare (Akh Morn) I couldn't help but notice that Garuda-egi didn't need to be in that video. I think what they did for Summoner between levels 50 and 60 was a step in the right direction, but I've just been waiting and praying that when we finally see the new abilities for Summoner at level 70 we will see improvements made to the egi experience.

Yeah that part was a lil' infuriating for me too. I was actually hoping to have Carbuncle back with all it's animations you have when you actually have the two Carbuncle's from ACN. Then to see it was literally just a model swap. Which was highly disappointing, but I still love my Carbuncles over those damnable Egi's lol.
