What I like to do is having an interesting conversation on the potential relics these two particular roles may have and what names would you go with for them.

I definitely think we'll see 'Joyeuse' as a potential relic for Red Mage, or at least as a potential Red Mage weapon, if not purely for the nostalgia factor of those who played Red Mage in FFXI.
As for the other ones, it's hard to say. In most previous Final Fantasy games there aren't many swords that are 'Red Mage' only that I can think of. And many iconic sword names (e.g Excalibur, Ragnarok, Apocalypse, Ultima Weapon) are already in use.
I don't know much about Samurai in previous games, but I can definitely see them going with Murasama or Masamune for at least one of the relics
I'd have to agree on the Murasame sword for Samurai and possible Masamune. Hopefully the steps needed to get these potential relics aren't to tediousI definitely think we'll see 'Joyeuse' as a potential relic for Red Mage, or at least as a potential Red Mage weapon, if not purely for the nostalgia factor of those who played Red Mage in FFXI.

With the feedback from the 2.0/3.0 relic questlines combined, I'm sure they'll now able to develop a 4.0 relic questline that's much more fun to do than it has been.
Also, this just came to mind, but I do remember that the Enhancer is a sword from previous FF's that really fits with Red Mage in that it increases both physical and magic damage. It doesn't sound quite as glamorous as most relic names do though, but I think we can at least expect one of Red Mage's weapons to be the Enhancer.
I just remembered something Yoshi P stated in a interview that their goal for the relics were to take place in a forest or something to that extent. Hopefully we get to hear more about it in the coming months. With the feedback from the 2.0/3.0 relic questlines combined, I'm sure they'll now able to develop a 4.0 relic questline that's much more fun to do than it has been.

We're getting a Chicken Knife as a glamour, so maybe a Brave Blade as a Relic?
Chirijiraden is another possibility for the samurai relic weapon but I do believe Masamune and the cursed Muramasa are much more likely to be seen as they are more well-known.
Lore-wise, that's not possible though I'm afraid, as Joyeuse has already been referred to in-game as one of the three legendary swords wielded by the founding PLD members of Uldah's Sultansworn - the others being Durandal and Curtana (the latter naturally is the PLD relic the player gains), with the 2015 Little Ladies Day event showing that all three are virtually identical in appearance to each other, if the figurines in that event are to be believed (also presumably that means the Curtana-copy Solkzagyl wields in the PLD Job quests is either Joyeuse or Durandal):
So because of this, I doubt even PLD will ever see Joyeuse and Durandal I'm afraid, let alone as a RDM weapon, it will forever be 'lost' as part of the lore, or only wielded by a npc.Originally Posted by Little Ladies' Day Event 2015
Well-schooled Steward (when asking about the first row of dolls that depict three PLDs): "The first row displays life-size recreations of the three legendary Sultansworn known collectively as the first paladins. Of particular interest are the blades that they brandish."
Well-schooled Steward: "Three blades forged from the same steel, each one bestowed to the three great warriors who would attend the Royal House by the hand of Sasagan Ul Sisigan, first of his name and founder of our nation."
Well-schooled Steward: "Curtana, Joyeuse, Durandal... Eras have passed, monarchs have risen and fallen, but the legends of these blades-and the men who did wield them-live on to this very day."
Also using the term 'relic' for RDM and SAM is somewhat redundant as they won't even have relic, which was for the original 1.0/ARR Jobs only - same as MCH, AST and DRK did not get relic either but anima weapons. It's highly likely then that RDM and SAM will instead only gain a weapon from the new elite weapon questline planned for Stormblood accordingly.

It will obviously be a sword and then that crystal ball thing that the red mage was holding in the fanfest video. As far as rdm legendary weapons it might be possible that they share one with another class? Or perhaps a hybrid or two classes? PLD/AST?? Lol.. rdm has always borrowed from other classes as a hybrid "jack of all trades" so to speak so who knows what they are going to do with that. Sam will most likely end up with masamune.
On topic, Ama-no-murakumo stands out as something I'd like to see SAM receive in some regard and for RDM I think I'd like to see Murgleis perhaps or even the Atma sword from VI since the blue glowing blade strikes me as fitting contrast.
Somewhat diverging from the topic, I was discussing this with a friend that one thing that bothers me is the idea of RDM and SAM missing 2 sets of artifact gear and respective weapons. If they start at 50 I think it would be nice if they were given a set of artifact gear to solidify the image, with a weapon that is fittingly iconic to them without being something we view as a "this should be an endgame weapon" in terms of looks or name. This idea spawned from all the previous artifact sets we've received and the knowledge that we skipped lv50 for MCH DRK and AST (which I also would argue need a "lower level" artifact set for nothing but glamour reasons, because glams are life) leading me to be a bit morose at the idea of missing the opportunity for more job specific armor to glamour for these two.
