Hello all. I'm posting this on behalf of a friend of mine.
He recently had some friends that were interested in trying out FFXIV, but weren't sure if they wanted to invest money in subscriptions right now, so they're on the free trial, and he was just showing them around Eorzea. He wanted to show them the housing wards, and, since he owns a plot in the Mist, thought he would add them as a tenant to his house to make it easier for them to teleport there.
However, he goes to do so, and finds that he can only add one other person, while only having one tenant currently assigned to his house.
Now, I understand that maybe, free trial players cannot be added as tenants to houses without purchasing the full game. That seems like it would make sense, considering that they cannot join Free Companies, Linkshells, start their own parties, etc.. However, the issue still stands: did SE change the number of tenants one could have in their personal house? Did we miss that update somewhere? (Note that he hasn't tried to add any of them to his estate yet; he's too bamboozled by finding that he can only add one more tenant, as opposed to two.)
Here's a screenshot he sent me. I don't have anything to really go off of on my end, as I own an FC plot, not a personal one, and FCs can't add tenants (wish they could though).
He also stated that he's noticed he can't teleport to one of our mutual friend's houses anymore, and wonders if, perhaps, he was the third tenant on her list, and that may be why he can't teleport there anymore. Because, as far as we're aware, she has not removed anyone from her estate. The teleport no longer shows up in his Residential Areas teleport list, however, he can still access the Shared Estate settings for her house under his Housing tab.
Anyone have any idea as to why this is? Or a link to some obscure housing update that perhaps he and I both missed? Any response is much appreciated.
