it wasn't the ps3, but the game as whole. most pc couldn't handle 1.0 and WoW has basic textures that looked like the n64

it was designed from the ground up to zone stuff out, it wasn't sony nor ps3 that made them.
I'm afraid you are incorrect. Yoshi and the dev team had to fulfill their contract with Sony. The game was built with the PS3 limitations in mind, thus limiting the PC/PS4 build in retrospect.

Yes but he still admits that technical specs are still a contributing factor.

That's not how load times work. If you're loading two zones worth of data, it's going to take just as long as loading each zone separately, it'll just be up front. Assuming your machine can even load that much. Even if they stream loading based on position, you're still spending time to load assets. The game may not be in a black screen when you do, but it'll be hurting your performance elsewhere. Larger zones make the game slower, not faster.

[citation needed] I mean, seriously, 1.0 was originally supposed to come to PS3.

Yes and because of the PS3's hardware is why the original engine was abandoned. As well as many other factors and issues as well of course not to single out the Playstation.

While I'm fine with the broken up instanced zones... the least they could do is get rid of the random invisible walls all throughout the zones that turn them into funneled pathways (and the noninteractable surfaces in the HW zones that don't allow you to land your mount wherever you please).

Oh just talking about invisible walls, there are a bunch of walls based on the idea of water too deep to wade and therefore blocked off, even if you could simply jump out of the water at the edge onto land. With the addition of swimming I'd love to see any of those walls removed, I don't even care if they flesh out the depths of the new ponds/rivers you can swim in, or maybe just swim on top and not dive.

There are a few invisible walls in North Shroud that are like ... what? .. really? Lol

Have fun spamming sprint in Gridania.

But honestly, why would you need a seamless Limsa? We know everyone hangs out near Aetheryte/MP. Unless you're waiting for hours on an end for PF or whatever, and you make it your goal to sprint around the whole city, it seems like a bad investment.

One more thing: I know I probably shouldn't bring lore aspects into this, but you need aether currents to fly around. Why do we need aether currents in cities if aethrytes exist already? O_o

In short, Role Play, is the real answer to this. That's all they purely want it for, to waste so much dev resources on seamless roleplaying. That is if the OP has finally made a thread that isn't a bait thread.
