Log out after being dc

So let's start with the fact that my ISP force kicks me from game once a day. I can set the hour when it will happen but usually it is within that hour I will be disconnected (as IP address is changed). It is awfully frustrating to either not join any parties for that one hour or to spend 3-5 minutes afterwards trying to log back in while hoping that I will not get kicked for offline. I assume there are lots of people that get dc daily just to log back in and to find themselves being kicked from party as not everyone has perfectly stable connections.

What I would propose is to log out character as soon as somebody is trying to log in with that character. To avoid trolling there could be a 15 second warning window popping ingame saying that somebody is trying to log in with your account and if you want to block this login.

Sounds like a server problem that was solved a long time ago.

When you play other games, do you experience it too? If you do, then it's something on your end. Try to reset your router, and/or modem and see if that solves anything.

It happened to me a few times, but immediately logged in without delays. I think your issue depends your internet gets disconnected by your isp, as long as the ip address is changed.

I'd suggest the best course of action is trying to solve the stability of your connection with your isp, it is no likely a game will be changed to workaround an external problem. Check also the power, a loose power cable connector can turn off your modem and force a reset. Or any other hardware cause. ISP doesn't force DSL resync often and it is likely the cause is on your side. Check with their support staff too. It happened some ISP force connection drops to stop torrents and alike, and thinks xiv is a torrent, check it too with them.

I am hoping the server move/upgrades help address this issue. I seen myself along with my friend the game kept us online for up to 7 minutes before it let us come back.

I do not think that is an ISP issue. Why would our ISP keep our character online when we d/ced?

Only time had this issue is when ARR first launched otherwise if I get DCed by the time I am able to log back in (usually a couple minutes) I am able to just log back in without any problems.

It is only ff14, that does not let me log in after my router changes to the new IP address, everything else works perfectly fine. Have tried to set it to times when I do not play but sometimes I end up being online on that particular time and mostly just forget about it and queue up. That is literally the only issue I actually have this game and outside from that one reset moment, connection is stable.

yeh i have the same problem my ip resets once a day , and it usually happens inside a dungeon, then i need to wait like 2-3 min until the char gets kicked out , dont know any solution for this ^^

The solution is to allow someone to login to where their character left off. Other games do this and merely grey out the persons name in party window or has some indication they went linkdead. Then when they return (if they return in an amount of time) then they continue where they left off.

Some games even give the character simple AI to defend themselves if in combat.

The system right now is to prevent pull plugging to avoid death by keeping the character active for a minute. But you can't regain control in this state. They should fix that. And allow immediate login on a D/C.

I hate this so much: DC for 1 second and you get stuck with the "You are still logged in" message and it takes you 7-10minutes to log back in because it wont log your character out >:\ it happens to me when I try to do group content and its usually the worst time for it to happen
