    Resolution Troubles

So the other day I downloaded the new Mass Effect game, and in order to do so, I had to download the latest Geforce driver (driver version 378.92 with a GTX of 960M). But when I went to play FF14, the UI was all super tiny! I tried changing the resolution over and over and over again, but no matter what I did everything was still really small. Does anyone know how to fix this? I know it's a really petty problem that probably has an easy fix, but I just don't know how to fix it.

My resolution currently is 3840x2160, 60Hz and my laptop is a Dell XPS 15

In the System Configuration settings, the Display Settings has an option for the High Resolution UI settings. Select one and see how it looks.
For fine tuning you can also change the size scaling of each UI element to a degree. In your HUD layout, select an element you want to configure and press ctrl+home and it'll go through the size options.

Thank you, this really helped! Although, my chat box is still really tiny, and when i try to stretch it out, the text is still itty bitty. Is there a way to fix that, too?

There sure is! It's in one of the settings that lets you resize the chat box space itself so it expands. Additionally, you can resize the font when you're typing in that box before you hit enter. The game is in maintenance so I wasn't able to go in to get the settings. It's there though and I'll followup on this.

Thanks, although I think my problem isn't that things got resized. I'm not sure what it is now, but I have this awful input lag in the game now. It used to be very responsive and steering my character was super easy. Now it feels like I'm driving, lugging my character around like they're twice my weight. Plus it takes the game a second to register that I tried to move the camera. Is this a graphics issue? This only just started after the Mass Effect incident.

Make sure your display setting are properly set matching your monitor settings. Also I had t eh same issue and depending on your video card program you can manage the settings for individual games. Or you can just manage your text from the settings menu.

If you've scaled your UI for a high res screen but that chat box (the space where you type a message before hitting enter) is super tiny, here's how to adjust it:

    1. Open "Chat Log Settings" (looks like a gear icon can be found on the chat UI)
    2. General Tab
    3. "Chat Font Prompt Size" -- adjust this to a higher number.

    done!

Here's what my graphics card says the resolution is. I changed FF14 to this setting, but I still have the input lag. A friend of mine suggested I reinstall the game entirely, but that may mean me using a VPN again...

Does anyone know how to fix this? I can upload a video to show exactly what's going on with my game.

That screenshot looks like an Intel control panel. Make sure that you're using your Nvidia GPU for the game, not the Intel one. The Nvidia control panel has a place where you can tell it to use "High-performance Nvidia GPU" for ffxiv_dx11.exe. Do you actually have a 4k display or are you using some supersampling shenanigans? Playing at 4k does make the UI tiny if you don't adjust the UI scaling and text size as described by other people in previous posts.

As for the input lag, that could simply be due to low framerate. Try changing the game to the 1920x1080 resolution instead and see what happens. A 960M really isn't built for 4k gaming.
