I want my Anima as a companion. One that's not a useless minion.

1.0 did, they were called the Path Companions, and Minfilia assigned the player one when they joined the Path of the Twelve, the predecessor organization to the Scions. Sadly though it seems that ship has long since sailed and that as someone else mentioned already in this thread, it seems the new Grand Company squadrons will be the replacement (which makes sense, the Path of the Twelve was disbanded and reorganized as the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, so Path Companions no longer have any lore reason to remain).
But, I still miss my bisexual, sophisticated, highly sexed Moonkeeper kittygirl GLA Path Companion Imarah and her constant flirting with my character:
Sadly as useful as a chocobo companion is, they're just not the same as how the Path Companions were. Hopefully the GC Squadrons will fulfill the role well instead.![]()
I'd like to be able to choose from my retainers and squadron members when selecting a companion to journey with. I don't think that there is an absolute need for open world content to make this worthwhile, just having new companions would be worthwhile to a lot of players. That said, additional/new content is always welcome.Correct.
I'm not opposed to the idea - because it has the potential to be pretty neat - but there isn't a whole lot of content that it would be suitable for. There would also be a lot more clutter to deal with on people's screens which is why the various 'pet' classes have such limited options last I heard. I'm happy to be corrected if that is wrong, though.
