    Healer dps in A12s

Hi, so I cleared a12s twice already but I'm always scared to dps in it mainly because damage is huge and if I dps sometimes the tank or others may die. If I'm running with a sch I can pretty much solo heal the entire thing except maybe a few parts but yeah what openings do you healers use to dps? The times I have used it are at the beginning and then during grav anomaly (1st one) and then I dps again during both stasis. After that I never really dps. What are some good moments to put in healer dps in a12s? I know it doesn't matter if the main healer really dps in this fight but I'd still like to put my melds to good use!

    Thanks

I recommend checking out some Youtube videos from other AST to see when they do (and also, how they use their healing abilities to create room for DPS, and how their tanks use their cooldowns, because those are a big part of it). You can also check FFlogs for DPS time lines for different AST players. Sorry for a general comment only, I only play SCH in A12S myself. And our group is not very good at the fight yet (we only have 4 clears now), but our AST manages to do around 300 DPS throughout the fight (and me around 600-700, so together we're doing 900-1000 which is a pretty nice boost for our group DPS).

Plan the fight out with your cohealer so you know when you can safely use Cleric Stance. Distribute your and your cohealers buffs and oGCDS in such a way that allows both of you to dps as often as possible. Go for time effcient heals (Bene II over Bene I) as often as possible (if your mana allows it). And don't think of yourself as "mainhealer", that concept is old and busted.

Indeed, you have to talk with your co-healer and not soloheal everything on your own.
Me and my co-healer are both doing 800 dps, but because we know who heal what and when.

For example, during all the little add, I spread my dot and then I heal the main tank. This way my cohealer can use some gravity.
After a mega holy, we both heal the group, then, i heal the main tank until the tank buster (then again, my co healer can dps). Then I let her heal it and use my dots...

The idea is always to switch, so that you both have the time to use your dots at least.

    THIS !
A lot of people should really consider that fact. There no more "main and off healer". Both healer can heal and dps. All they need is ro organize!

No longer in a static and run this weekly by myself. Much easier and less time consuming. Thanks for the tips though!

Unfortunately, in your case, i'm afraid there's not many options.
Since you never know with who you're playing, you can't make plans before.

Hum I'd say in that case, to play this safely, that's it's better to only dps during REAL SAFE moment (for example, after Alex LB, until everyone go to his position)
It is better, unfortunetaly to be ready to heal (and maybe do nothing or soloheal) than letting the party die because both healer were dpsing but none of them realized that.

You could only improve your dps in a static.
    So,don't worry about it then.

Talk with co healer and tanks cd rota eg warrior hg tank buster,so u have litlle time dotting and dpsing, these two roles need to communicate together. That is basic in a structured raid in general. Also dmg spikes are predictable and scripted.Watch some vids and/er record your own clears and adapt.

Call me old fashioned but I still subscribe to the main healer/off healer train of thought (And yes I appreciate that it is sub optimal). However even whilst solo healing the majority of A12s it's still pretty straightforward to keep dots up for a good percentage of the encounter. It's got a load of pretty big windows to safely DPS, particularly during the various long casts and movement mechanics where it's simply doing no damage to anyone (and if it does, it's a one shot anyway).

Good examples of safe windows for DPSing would be:

The opening if you have a warrior pull and holmgang the first tank busters
    Phase 1 Sacrement
The first few seconds of each wave of adds
About 10 seconds after Alex reappears after the 2hour/transition to phase 3
    Inception's 10 year cast time
    etcetc
