    Questions and Answers, please.



    There a few questions that haven't been asked, answered, or fully commented on.

    Here are the questions I hope a representative, or developer can answer for me. Not in a specific order:

    Will Job-specific gears be meldable?

    Will the ability that allows MP/HP have the same timer as Siphon MP? Since the list doesn't mention Siphon MP-like spells I am guessing we are losing that and exaltation. Will they Return?

    Does the element table that we can points into actually effect damage output on spells, or is it strictly under Intelligence and magic attack potency?

    Will cross-class abilities be less punished?

    Is patch 1.20 going to give us, black-mage-in-training, thaumaturges the "oomph" we desire in our spells against bosses like Ifrit?

    If not 1.20, will it be 1.21 when Black-Mage is available?

    Is there a way to get a demonstration of two group fighting Ifrit, or maybe even the moogles? One being a group of classes, the other a group of Jobs to show us the difference in a solo-oriented classes vs the party-oriented jobs.

    Do you like my drawing? Took me a while to do it. (I know it's very crappy compared to others, some critiquing would be nice though.)

    If it's U/U, which it probably will be, then most likely not.

    The table they've shown us is the complete set of abilities. There will no longer be a Siphon MP spell. It might return post level 50, no way of knowing for sure.

    If its the same as it was before they took it out, then yes. But we don't know for sure.

    No, cross class abilities are punished for a reason, to create more defined roles for the player.

    I would assume yes. If THM's role is being delegated to merely nuking, he would have to be rather good at for balancing reasons.

    If not 1.20, will it be 1.21 when Black-Mage is available?

    Black Mage will be coming in 1.21 with all the other jobs.

    Just wait until 1.21 and try it yourself.

    I'm sure he meant for Devs but yeah a lot are obvious but we have to wait and see for:

    Will Job-specific gears be meldable?

    If it follows the XI route of JSE/AF it probably won't be but it will probably be upgradable (unless they completely forgot about Empyrean Armor they just created..)

    Will cross-class abilities be less punished?

    Given that we need class definition I doubt it will be absolutely free like it was before since that's why there wasn't any definition or so to say 'image' to classes.

    These alone depend on what is done in 1.20 and 1.21 so it's a wait and see situation.

    From what we have been told, yes. All cross classable actions will function the same at a base level across the board. How ever actions native to a given class will gain a boost from traits.

    Sorry I didn't word it right. What I meant by the question about 1.21 is this.

    Let's say in patch 1.20, we black-mages-in-training don't get a big boost in power. We still do crap damage against bosses like Ifrit. If not patch 1.20, will 1.21 give use a bigger power boost because Black-mage will be available to play as.

    Well Black Mages are nuking specialists in FF..generally, so clearly they'll be more powerful being specialized but you also won't immediately become the key source of damage against Ifrit for example, since bosses usually don't take "full damage" from anything. So it's wait and see because there's also other things to take into consideration, e.g Magic resistances.

    Very true, but from the new description of Thaumaturge. Lowest Hp and armor should be the best damage by far. Why should Lancer be the hardest hitting since it can take a few hits, vs Thaumaturge which soon won't be.
