For PotD, I like to do Floors 1 - 40, then start over until I get the hang of the skills they give me. I didn't do 41 - 50 until I felt comfortable enough with my ability of the class. Needless to say, I still needed some work, as we almost wiped. Being a new player, however, it's expected that I don't have everything down 100%. I don't like just jumping into things, and I only play PotD with at least one friend, + duty finder, or all friends .The Lvl 41 - 50 was just a group of friends/FC mates. I don't want to force people into my fail sauce before I can be certain I will do decently. xP

I used both lvling roulette and Potd to level other jobs. The problem with Potd is there are no real mechanics and everything dies so fast to where no real rotation can be learned, even at floor 41-50.

So it creates players who never truly learn a rotation or even a good sense of their skills, for players that use PotD exclusively to level.

Even fates and fate bosses have enough health for you to get 1 or 2 rotations on the enemy. So many of these so called bad players are using Potd exclusively along with MSQ to progress and usually have no idea what they are doing in dungeons or trials when they get in due to being used to Potd easy quick kill method.

And Potd is suppose to get XP increase for SB too. So it will continue

Honestly like with everything else, people that want to really learn their jobs will do so, and those that don't just won't.

Yes, does it make leveling more accessible for bad players....

But I mean, its been a really good resource for me when leveling stuff. I have everything to 60 and I don't know all of the ins and outs of them all, but for those that I really wanted to learn, POTD was super helpful. Like NIN. I LOVE IT. I'm not the best at it, but I've done some research on the rotation, and from 1-50, I'd say by the end I was pretty dang good at it.

By the time I got to leveling 50-60, I'd forgotten most of what I taught myself, and I was too nervous to level in dungeons. I took it into POTD, and it helped me ease myself back into it.

But that was because of my own efforts, I'm sure I could have just blown through it without a care, but I made the effort to bring myself back up to where I was before.

Because my knowledge of DRG is so much higher I don't exactly feel comfortable enough to do hard content with NIN but I do feel like I could bring it back into some easier stuff and not feel like a burden haha.

Main Story Quests, Side Quests, and Leves do this as well. But that's the elephant in the room no one wants to talk about. Solo quests have made leveling accessible for variously skilled or not skilled players for over 13 years across dozens of games.

Group encouraged games simply don't do as well. The one that did peaked out at 750,000 subs in 2005.

Starting from 1-50 Lvling from 1-60 was a good idea.

Being able to start straight from 51 and be lvl 60 when ur actual guy is lvl 1 is not

The first 20 floors are super boring though.

People like to be irrational and blame everything open ended content. When me and me g/f unlocked potd, we started from lvl 1+

the way it works is open ended, there are 0 restrictions and you will hit back. Thing is contrary to belief, you do need to know wtf to do. edda fight is a wall for some people. And for jobs it does give insight how jobs play at 60, to see how they like it. It can also help in setting up their hotbar/cross hotbar. stuff does die fast, but the bosses don't, And when you wipe that is it. I haven't see much difference between potd and other content.

It just makes it more apparent how disorganized everyone is. If it taught me anything we need to stop bullying each other, and start helping each other. Stop giving excuses, and stop being rude. Blaming others or content is pretty bad.

I think I'm more the odd one out, since I haven't used it for leveling really at all. I might end up using it some for tanks/healers if I find I just don't feel up to actual dungeons. Those are jobs I kinda want to at least have available if only to help out mates if they need. But sub-50 I kinda felt like grinding beast tribes was more productive just for Poetics to get a jump start on Ironworks.

But I'm also a slow-and-steady player that doesn't mind the longer route if it means I feel I'm more prepared when I get to the end. PotD is a nice distraction, but it doesn't progress very much besides just leveling, and that happens no matter what you do. May as well get something else along the way. (yes there's the weapon, too, but I don't think I can even get to it, let alone use it, before I've even started HW)

Here is an idea. Run only people you know then random people will not have an impact on you.

I do same as you. Run 1 to 50 and repeat until the job is around in the 30s and I have better grasp at how to play it. Then I do leveling roulette or two to see an actual dungeon experience and repeat. I absolutely love it. :") I get to test and see how other job feel, I make good money from the materia, all around love it. I've not noticed increase of poor players because of it but that could be just me.
