    I wouldnt recommend leveling via potd with the first class, thus we all pretty much leveled the first class via main scenario quests, msq istances and leveling dungs. If anyone ever decides to lwvel up via potd from 1 to 60 he can do it, why not, you will eventually get how your class works, and one important thing is read the skills tooltip, figuring out a class mechanic is not really hard, you improve your skills by using that class, experience thats it. While leveling tho sum1 should do leveling roulette daily if possible, queues are pretty fast for dps too, then trial roulette when level 50+, and dont forget to upgrade gears, not required inside potd but allows u to go on other duties prepared

    I go 50+ no matter.

    I read the tool tips and set action bars, people where a bit annoyed my first 51 because I did it as sch right when I hit level 30 to unlock it.

    so.... First 2 floors , so 50-51, i kept asking them to wait a bit as i tried to heal while setting the abilities and found that hard to do.

    I had the hardest time understanding dissipation and when to use it. I had to learn over time doing raids like weeping and dun to figure it out.

    I'm currently leveling summoner and from what I've learned, it's about keeping up your DoTs on as many mobs and as long as possible, making the best use out of Dreadwyrm Trance, managing your Aetherflow wisely etc.

    Some people seem to insinuate that it's PotD's fault when people only know how to press 1 2 3 on their job, but that's simply not true. It's their own fault.
    Little off topic, but most important part! Learn to micromanage the pet, or you'll always be a subpar SMN that other casters are secretly judging. XD You have any idea how many SMNs don't know the bare basic of retargetting their pet when they switch targets? :/

    Oh I do try to make my pet attack the enemy I'm currently obliterating, but I'm not sure if I'm using the most efficient method XD
    I didn't mention it because I thought it was common sense lol

    I guess you could say I'm in the middle ground to the end ground and maybe with a touch of luck on the side. I am using POTD to level my main to 60. I say I'm in the middle to end ground because when I came back to help friends. My main was already at level 50 after doing things the "normal" way long before POTD became a thing. So I went in already knowing how to play and with all my rotations and macros there and set and ready to go. I say luck because my role in 3.0 remained largely unchanged from 2.0, so it was easy to adapt to the new 50-60 skills with just a quick read of what it does followed by me saying in party "oh cool, a new nuke, give me 5 seconds please to macro this. Oh nice, an extension for Eye For An Eye buff. give me a few seconds to add this to my Eye For An Eye macro" etc. The big bonus is outside POTD I could see all my 3.0 skills on my hotbar. So when I had time I could fine tune my level 60 rotation while still keeping my level 50 rotation in check, setting hotbar placements better, etc.

    Those players you described.. are just the sort of players we don't want in dungeons. But for some reason, some believe PotD should be nerfed to put them back in Dungeons.

    This sums it up nicely. Every issue everyone brings up about PotD has been an issue since 1999. You either get it, or you don't. You're either putting in effort, or your lazy. Good players get it and put in effort. Bad players get it and don't put in effort. The rest, you can't help that.

    And lets be honest. Most issues everyone describes in dungeons are from bad players. They know what they are supposed to do. They just don't. Try it next time. When you get a subpar player, ask them why they are not doing what they are supposed to. If they don't tell you to go screw yourself, 9 times out of 10 they are probably going to say 'its just 'x-content'' meaning they're not taking it seriously. And that's an attitude problem, not a content one.

    lol ok. <3 There's a handy guide in the DPS forums called "connecting the DoTs" that has some good tips on how to handle pets. First step is having Heel/Obey/Sic on your main hotbar and slowly working up to more complex management from there.

    And yeah, you would think it was common sense, right? ;P But apparently it's not, because you see everything from leaving the pet to auto attack the boss while switching to adds, to not putting garuda on obey so she flings enemies everywhere. @_@;

    On the bright side, this makes it really easy to pick out a lazy/bad SMN in the crowd. ;D

    Lol, maybe try this, new job into POTD and going to hit 60 with a bunch of new skills, enter solo first to set skills before stressing yourself out with a party wanting to gogogo! Lol

    Reply to the thread, POTD is a leveling tool with incentives for a decent weapon. Please stop trying to add more emphasize on learning in this dungeon meant to simulate a leveling potion. We have tools outside for DPS to train on like dummies, there's YouTube videos for optimization for everything else like healing, tanking, and dpsing. People are bad cause they have no desire to be "better."

    The biggest issue that can arise in POTD come from melee directionals. If you only leveled through POTD then you will develop the bad habit of not using your directionals because you've grown use to how POTD works. Even well accustomed players can run into this issue if they played to much of the content, almost in a similar way where you might feel inclined to use lv 1 LB for a split second after hearing it in non-pvp content because you are use to using Adrenaline around the time it becomes active. Also the same for Diadem and people thinking they can pull all of the same mob type and never run into a dangerous situation only to learn that some mobs have very nasty AOEs that make it impossible for Melee to attack and force healers to spam the heal button in an attempt to keep everyone alive.
