That is entirely wrong. Bards and Machinists can explode almost anyone in just a few seconds. BRD can literally delete someone within a GCD. Left unchecked, I've torn through at least 3 people within 10 seconds. . . Ignoring them is an easy way to set yourself up for a loss.

Ranged BRD/MCH are probably the most terrifying classes to heal against because they have the stupidest strongest burst that can literally 100-0. I always keep them focus targeted because I need to know when they are prepping in advance because they are so dangerous and harder to react to. It's good practice to CC these ranged classes when you see them setting up burst, so BLM/WHM Sleep, Tank stuns, or just line of sight them if they are targeting you or even just straight bursting them first. So no it's never good to just ignore the ranged, and I don't see what binding has to do with it.
