there seems to be loads of posts about this but none have helped me

i need a pair of Ehcatl Wristgloves ive check around and the only place is the vendor in Ehcatl. which wont speak to me till i do the quest ?

Yes you have to open access to the ixal beastmen dailies which requires only to have a crafter tool equipped. You can be level 1 and still access the quests.

Are these the i70 gloves or the i6(?) gloves that you're referring to?

Last I checked, the i70 gloves required you to have a certain reputation with the Ixal before you can purchase them. The i6 gloves are given to you for free after doing whatever intro quests the Ixal ask of you, with the only requirement being that you go as a DoH. Been a long while since I unlocked the Ixal though so I'm not sure if anything has changed about them.

The Ehcatl Wristgloves are the level 1 gloves you need to use while doing the daily repeatable quests. You get one set when unlocking the tribe, and if you lose them can re-purchase replacements from the Ixali Vendor for gil. That should be available at even the first, lowest reputation level. You do need to have completed the introductory quest to unlock the Ixal tribe, though. (And since you'll be given the gloves in that quest, the only reason to buy them from the vendor is if you've lost or discarded them since doing it.) Are you on the unlock quest or trying to do some of the daily repeatable ones?

The vendor also has Ehcatl Smithing Gloves available as a trade item for Oakknots. Those are the iLevel 70 ones, and they require having a high enough reputation with the Ixal. (It's either the highest or second-highest reputation level, I don't quite remember.)


At least, that's how it's supposed to work. It's been a long time since I did it, so I can't guarantee it isn't bugged or something...

These gloves are not available from the Ixali Vendor. I did the first quest and now am on the "Reaching for Cloud Nine" one but I can't get the gloves anywhere so how am I supposed to do the quest which requires me to "Synthesize a hull interior component"?

Were you checking the correct Ixal vendor? Cuz, they're there.

Would the Calamity Salvager have them? I know they sell Quest Rewards, but I'm not sure if the Gloves count as a reward or a Quest Item.

For the first quest "Reaching for Cloud Nine", you don't have access to the vendor items yet (at least until now).
So, if you lose the gloves you need to talk with the same NPC quest 'Sezul Totoloc' to get another pair.
