Anyone remember the Mr Happy Garuda EX strat everyone used in 2.1/2.2 that was so melee unfriendly parties would refuse to allow any in? There were other strats out there, but everyone in NA and EU used this one because Mr Happy showed it off.

And it made getting your weekly Primals done as a melee very hard, unless you had a ranged or healer geared enough for Garuda EX.

That's the kind of thing that would happen with more varied gear. And it happens in all MP games; a set is found that is superior in some way (even if its just because a popular streamer prefers it) and everyone needs to use it or get kicked. Same thing with skill trees and the like.

Not even hard to see it with the gear we have now either...

she was around in 1.0 with the blm group only, garuda fight as a group of blm would burn her down with a higher success rate due to an exploit.

the worst offender would be GW2
99% dungeon party require specific skill build and certain set of equipment
GW2 Supposedly to be very versatile offering different combination of skill sets, yet when the community found out the 1 way better than other, it become a disease spread across the whole universe and killing one of the most interesting game, and I hope it will never happen in FFXIV

I played GW2 & that never happened to me. Me and a friend both ran builds we came up with ourselves, never got any grief for it.

This is why I dislike the larger youtubers or the one's who end up having sway with their audiences. They always seem to get an insatiably big ego and act like they are the one true authority on the game and players do end up following their words like its the ultimate truth and any deviation from it is the biggest crime.

The first image that popped up in my mind when reading this was the pope. I dare say Sheep and Shepherds are scarcely a modern age phenomenon!

Another example, some players don’t even realize that you can put materia on weapon or gear.

Truth be told, I bet they got that from internal statistics on how many people bother to meld and simply drew the conclusion: No meld = Doesn't know about melds.

Likewise, his comment about the higher iLvL item was clearly a jab at the Diadem weapon outrage, where one has to wonder whether it's the chronically overworked devs that are confused about stat weights or the dedicated theorycrafters.

It would not surprise me if the likes of Mr.Happy thinks he is of such a level xP Though the general consensus I seem to have about him is that a lot of people on this forum and the XIV Reddit dislike him from meh levels to absolutely hatred xD

When he did that clickbait title vid a month or so ago (Blitzball Confirmed) many people including myself called him out in the comment section because he even said in the video it wasn't but he needed clicks. The video was later edited and like the high professional he is he argued back at us defending an indefensible position for 2 weeks. Very petty and childish a guy. He even sent me messages in my email because I had the gall to call him out for his high and mighty "do you know who I am" attitude that he has at events.

I'm not interested in this guy's swollen head. I even told him so in his comments, I don't care about his builds, I'm more interested in the tissue and lotion on his nightstand by his bed in the background of his early videos. Lol he tried to report me for harassment but I told the YT mod to look at the vids and we both had a good laugh.

I'll be honest, I *still* really dislike Mr. Happy after over 3 years for Garuda EX. I was a DRG back then, and could clear it even using that strat as one, but because people were such sheep, I was forced to gear a job I disliked at the time in order to do my weekly.

yeah the more of these interviews I read, the less hyped I am. Already preordered the standard edition of sb..meh. Well, ill still play it cuz its a good time killer but for the first time I have no hype.

Lol simplifying gear even more...idk how long ill last.
