It is. The reasons he always gives for the lack of a new tank and healer actually applies more to DPS jobs (especially melee) so it upsets me in a way that I can't put it in words.

You know, I find it somewhat amusing that the reason he states for not adding them is the same reason for wanting to simplify the stats and gear, yet this meta argument about the gear that has been going on in this thread has seemed to totally ignored this.![]()
But it doesn't? Ignore the speedrunning meme. All of the DPS are fine as regards to their damage output on comparison to each other, ESPECIALLY melee. Last I checked, the top and bottom jobs were within striking range of each other. Even then, a skilled monk can blow away an average Machinist any day.
The only issue the dps jobs have is that MNK doesn't do enough damage (anymore) to offset it's lack of utility(which is blatantly the intent), and that's likely nothing a Greased Lightning 4 can't solve.

to be honest, i rather want dev add no new jobs, and rebalance every single jobs
when i have Diurnal Sect, i feel like playing my WHM again, and when I have Nocturnal Sect on, feel like SCH again
the difference between AST/WHM, and AST/SCH feel rather insignificant
instead of making more clone job, I want stronger identity for my different jobs

The only gear stat "complexity" in the game right now is accuracy since nothing explains it ever and when you first see the accuracy stat the game just gives you the ball game butt pat then tells you to get going. It would be one thing if accuracy requirements were placed on dungeon details but that was too hard I guess so we got the "Find the proper accuracy" game instead.
So heres hoping that gear simplification is just removal of accuracy.
Oh hey nothing was here

Why have stats, just have ilvl and be done.
Man SE underestimates their audience thanks to those who are very vocal. If these people who don't understand stats actually took the time reading up on them that they spend complaining on the forums there would be no issues.
Stats are haaard. Buttons are haaard. Doing stuff is haaard. OOOO PRETTY DRESS GIVE ME NOW
/facepalm
Me too! Give me the old 1.0 Coerthas please!

Actually I like this idea. Honestly I'd be happy with it removed, changed or added to healer gear. :/I would actually like to see them change "Accuracy" to "Crit Hit Chance" and "Crit Hit" to "Crit Hit Damage". That way we won't have to worry about missing, but think about how to optimize the chance of getting a Critical Hit and the amount of damage that comes with it. We would still be "Min-Maxing" our gear to get the most out of it, which would give good reason to add more variations of gear of the same Item Level (Tome, Raid, Diadem, etc).
Nice shire gear.

I don't understand what my gear has to do with this. I work for my gear, learn my job, learn my role, do the best I can and hold back when someone cant keep up and try to help them through. I do stuff all the time, I don't ask for nerfs, in fact I ask for better/more difficult/interesting content. If I cannot do something due to my schedule I simply shrug it off and deal with it, since it is after all my schedule not the other 4m players. I would like long term goals, glamour is not endgame for me its simply a utility...see where I'm going with this?
Just because I am opposed to SE catering to someone who doesn't want to put any effort in whatsoever and asks for handouts because they like pretty dresses and nothing else does not mean I cannot use a utility like glamour. If anything my options for glamour should be larger since I do in fact put in the effort to obtain items whether its by crafting or raiding or grinding. I may grumble a little if I feel SE just phoned something in, but that is because I am hoping they improve and not default to the ppl who want to log in and just get everything in their mog mail.

I'm irritated by this but I guess I can't blame the DEVs to much, I mean whenever they add any complexity at all the forums do this....
If people would stop losing their minds over a little difficulty it might not be so bad.
