it seems that the queue times will only get longer and longer as I get further into the game before reaching the end game and I have no proof against that statement.

DPS queue times often hit 30+ mins these days at all levels in my experience leveling 5 characters over the last 6 months.

SE's silly decision to make parties of only 4 people (or double parties in 8-man content) means that long DPS times are part of the core game design, 50% of a party are DPS whereas in MMOs (of which XIV is just another example) DPS characters usually make up 75% or so of players in game at any point in time, thus a disproportionately long queue for DPS.
