    Is there a reason

That deleting someone from a friends list, leaves you on THEIR friends list, even months after the deletion? Not going to get into my personal business on here but I would think stalking is something SE wouldn\\'t condone. I don\\'t really enjoy being followed by people, and the fact blacklisting them doesn\\'t remove them is also a bit ridiculous.

Yes I understand that someone could do a player search, but a name change should sort of take care of it. This person has stalked me relentlessly on and off game, they have my PSN, Skype, etc.

I can take care of this out of game thankfully, but in game they are able to freely follow me around because they always know where I am, any time I log on.

Reporting does nothing because there is nothing against the TOS for "being in the same zone" as myself, even though it\\'s very evident what they are doing and have admitted to it OUTSIDE of game. Again, another loophole.

I know this person irl so it isn't random.

even if you change your name, you are still on their friendlist because it tags it by ID number (maybe the lodestone id number?). anyway yeah, i agree with you on this, wishing that removing friends makes it a two way thing (by that, if you remove them, you also get removed from their end) just like how it is on most "friend" systems in others games/platforms/social networks

Did you explain to a gm that you simply wanted to be removed from their friends list because of something they are doing outside of game that is making you feel unsafe?

You wouldn't think that ToS would have anything to do with that and they could simply delete you from their list if this is an issue. Not doing so could leave SE liable to some extent so I'm surprised they wouldn't.

Also if it is so severe you get a restraining order I believe that follows them into virtual worlds too. But I would check with the judge about it when its issued.

well SE did drop the ball on a lot of very simple fundamentals like this. Maybe because ARR was so rushed, but who knows

I did. But there is no "in game proof" I'm being harassed, so it hasn't been pursued by them. Even though I have plenty of psn and Facebook screens proving them admitting to what they are doing to me. I just get a "we can't do anything outside the realm of XIV copy paste response. I quit playing regularly hoping it would stop, but as of this week it's just started back up full force. Outside the game I am most definitely pursuing a restraining order.

They are using this as a loophole to avoid being penalized in game, which they've also admitted to.

I'd server transfer but I'd lose my house my FC and all my gil. So I'm stuck with this. I've had to lock up both my fc and house.

They can just keep an eye on your lodestone profile and garner all the info they need. You change your name/server/etc it all changes with the id remaining the same.

    You'll never escape me~! Muahahahahahahaha

^- this is a meme for anyone confused google "obsessive girlfriend meme"

While I have no one to hide from, the level of stalking people /could/ do is actually disturbing lol. Also, for those who change their name but haven't removed you from their friend's list I'd like to have a previous moniker button cause sometimes I just have to /tell and be like "who are you?".. its awkward lol.

While they're cleaning up the silly FC ranking system maybe they should change the friend list to not be omnipotent even when they don't want to be your friend anymore :P. Just add a warning that unlike blacklisting them, they'll actually know you unfriended them.

Probably not. It's normal, or at least was normal, for friend lists to function like that. WoW, for example, it still works like that if you use the ordinary friend list rather than RID or B.tag and it doesn't even require confirmation from the other person in the first place.

I fail to understand how they are any issue inside the game. Outside, yes. But inside?
Blacklist the person and ignore them? Unless you are an RPer, though.

But if you are not an RPer, why is blacklisting them and ignoring them mentally not enough?
What is it they do? Are they sayng mean things about you in region chat?
