Healer/Ranged DPS Magic Contest Entries

A little late, but this was my entry for the Healer category.


Title: Cleric's Battle Garb. (Cleric's Battle Chain/Cleric's Battle Vest/Cleric's Battle Armwraps/Cleric's Battle Leggings/Cleric's Battle Sandals)
Comment: Gear for healers who like to take a more active part in the battle; this Cleric's garb allows for great freedom of movement while still retaining a delicate, flowing aesthetic that healer gear is known for.

I'm not much of an artist to start with, but please forgive the sloppy coloring...because the color scheme was so light, my scanner didn't pick much of it up and I ended up having to redo it as best I could in MSpaint.

And the Japanese title actually says 'Crusader's Garb' because 'Cleric Stance' is 'Crusader's Stance' in Japanese, and I wanted the name of the gear to be a direct reference to that skill.

Ikr? Same thing happened with the tank entries. Who knows how Square judges things or what exactly they're looking for, but after they denied my drawing under a stick figure drawing... I was like this is a waste of time and decided to no longer enter...

I see now that most of my annoyance over the designs chosen was actually misdirected as the curators of the gallery are the ones with the biased tastes.

Like I said a couple of posts before, SE most probably didn't post all the info for the entries, cuz I know that mine also had extra info on email that wasn't published. Since we could send 1 or 2 pics I bet some entries have only half of it posted on that list.

true and we cant expect SE to post both pictures in a gallery just for us. it would have been easier for the viewers to just send one instead, since SE will not cut them togethe. as long as SE can see everything, theres not really a problem with it

i mean, this is all i have to show as jpg and gif, but one picture and an email commentary is enough as long as it shows everything and explains the set

This was my entry for the contest. Since the wardrobes of Eorzea's healers brim with robes and dresses, I thought I'd give them a different style. This gear was the product of a sporty-meets-punk idea. Since this was a generic healer outfit, I included elements that reflect the 3 healing classes present in the game. I chose the stars, moon, and sun for AST (feet and hands pieces); butterfly wings for SCH (chest piece) (fairies and all :P); and flowers for WHM (legs piece) (using earth, wind, and water was a bit tough to pull off). Since the wings are also often associated with healers, I gave one to the remaining piece of gear (head piece).
