There are some seriously talented designers in this community. The ones which didn't make it into the finals are good too. A skeleton themed robe/hood would be awesome.

One thing which bothers me is that a lot of the final designs are female-only (and in a way which I'm reasonably sure would require heavy modification to meet basic quality requirements for male characters). I hope that they aren't chosen, or that if they are a reasonably amount of time is invested into making them work on all race/gender combinations. I mean, I'm totally ok with wearing the female-only 'fiery draconian robes of casting' as-is but if it isn't heavily overhauled for guys (or is turned into something much uglier for them) I can see a whole bunch of people being rather depressed.

Or big Highlander girls like me. I don't look good in a lot of female-themed stuff, especially anything frilly.

No need to be bothered:

Winning entry needs to be a gear design which can be used by any race/gender, therefore any entry specific to any one race/gender may be removed from the grand prize winner selection

Why pick them for those then? That's supposed to be the potential winners, so why include some that don't go by the rules? It's not just female only, some designs don't incluse all armor parts and some aare front view only. That's what frustrates me about the selection. I'd rather see more designs that can actually be implemented than pretty honorary mentions that can't even be bothered to fulfill the requrements.

These were my entries. I don't know how the judging system works but I really though I had a chance with my chocobo getup.




But honestly, I'm really upset that many entries were snubbed for the motchi one. Don't get me wrong, my beef is not with the artist - I think from the motchi entry we have all been Meme'd by Squeenix.
