FC Alliance System

So I saw in the recent reddit interview that the FC Alliance system is coming and hopefully in 4.1, though they said 4.2 is possible based on their time schedule. Now, while I think I understand what this inclines I just want to clarify. This means my FC will become linked with another FC and we will essenially act as one unit, such as chat, and possibly the airships. This is mostly for small FCs to join larger ones. The main reason I ask is becauce my FC is used for personal stuff, its just me, but this alliance system would allow me to join one of the many friends' FCs I've been asked to join. At least that's how I think it works. Is this right? Is this how alliance systems work in other MMOs?

In other games I've played with alliance system the alliance is nothing more than an extra chat channel called "alliance", and the ability to see who's online in allied guilds, at the bare minimum I'd expect that. Anything extra like sharing a house with allied FCs should probably be asked in a live letter.

They said this for patch 2.2 and for sometime in 3.0 as well so I would take it worth a grain of salt tbh.

Until they confirm anything as concrete you never know what will be a real thing and what will disappear into that sea of "never spoken about again". Heck even when they show you videos of something it can fall into that sea. Basically believe it when its in the patch notes.

Take everything else as just speculation lol

We realize there are a lot of concerns about not being able to join the Binding Coil of Bahamut without the use of the Duty Finder as well as free companies that have different purposes.

During Letter from the Producer Live IX the other day, Yoshi-P discussed some upcoming features that will help alleviate these concerns. The biggest of which is the implementation of a party member recruitment feature where you can search something like a bulletin board to find and recruit party members with similar goals. This is scheduled to be implemented in patch 2.1 and we will be announcing more details on this feature in the future.

Also, as we've mentioned in the past we will be indicating what item level equipment is required for content in order to participate, so members who wish to participate with you will all be on the same page gear wise.

Finally, in patch 2.2, as we mentioned in a separate post last week, we are planning to implement a free company alliance system, which will let you join your free companies together to see both member lists, share a chat channel, and have other useful features.

We'll be implementing a variety of features moving forward step by step to ensure that everyone can play comfortably and easily in the content that they wish to participate in.

I like member lists and chat channels but I hope you can customize any others. I would be happy to help add materials in a workshop and get assistance with that. But I wouldn't want anyone touching my airships nor would I want to have access to theirs.
