    A public sale in which goods or property are sold to the highest bidder.

    Those that disagreed with an AH didn't want a bidding feature and seen it as useless. Most people agreed that a direct buy system from a menu would be ok if done right.

    Also, If I remember correctly most of those for MW just seen scrapping it as a waste of resources(which it would have been).

    Both sides received what they wanted so just get over it.

    It's a shame there's no item called Alchemist Tears. I'd buy all of yours, Market Ward or Auction House!

    They way the Market Wards are now is fine. It's balanced with not so many freaken retainers flooding the screen on each floor.

    Just remove the restriction and tax impaired to each ward so players can set up shop for w/e item they want to sell.

    Call the floors, "market #1, market #2, etc."

    They are making possible to buy items from Item Search menu and view purchase/sales history.

    It's a improvement of the Market Wards, not a totally separated system like you will have on one hand the Wards and on the other hand the "Auction House".

    You still will have to venture in to place your retainer and manage it.

    Undercutting happens, gotta deal with it. Some people like to play the market and profit off of such things, that's on them. It's a competitive scene. Honestly the only system that doesn't happen in is XI's obnoxiously stupid guess-buying system. Even that's not really auctioning, which would be starting with a price and people bidding for it with bids getting progressively higher until the time is up.

    The biggest downfall of the Market Wards system is honestly the amount of people. With more and more people a problem starts to arise where specific wards become full and now people can't sell things in the appropriate ward. Some say this encourages people to move to other cities but it generally doesn't work out if you do.

    Since we're getting buy from menu, the next logical step (in my mind at least) would be to make them global so that people are encouraged to put their retainers up in the other city wards. At least that way their goods stand a chance of even getting seen.

    Funny thing is, that's how it was at launch. However it was the most awful thing in the game because we didn't have an item search feature, so they separated them.

    Most of the people who were for the MW said to do this, smart aleck. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was our idea. You can thank us with bottom prices and sales.

    The term auction house came from FFXI because you bid blindly on the items. Its not the same as a trading post. And thats the biggest complaint with the "AH". It has nothing to do with where you stand to buy items.

    Seriously, why do people do this? You don't need to make 200% profit on an item just because you can. It just makes the game that much harder for new players starting out.
