    [DEV???] crafting specialization

One thing in ffxi that was great was being specialized in 1 craft over the others. I would rather go to a crafter and know ahead of time that they specialize in say WVR and I am going to get the best from them that I can.

I suggest each player can dedicate themselves to a single craft and gain special abilities/skills/tools that offer improvements to their craft of choice. This provides identity to the players "I'm a Weaver and i'm proud of it" while helping build a stronger community since right now 2-3ppl can easily take care of an entire LS's needs.
    1. One bonus ability I could see is access to a new tier of "Forbidden Support" this could increase forbidden % rates. This could be balanced by being tied to a once a week key item or relate it to a quest that can only be repeated once a specific set time.
    2. Another idea for specialization is access to a higher tier of crafted gear that require extreme conditions to be met in order to succeed (craft in dangerous area for special support facility or require specialization tool provided above).
    3. New crafted items that must be completed upon Boss kill. Items crafted on the spot of the kill in order to make the item/gear/weapon. EX you kill boss of Natalan and he drops a "Decapitator's Gloves" they are in such a state that moving them will cause them to be destroyed but if you have your specialized WVR on hand and ready to craft then he can restore them to New and they can then be moved and equipped as normal.

In FFXI, the choice to be only able to take one craft above 60 was implemented with (I believe) the second expansion. When they raise the level caps this may be implemented again, just wait and see.

Please, let's not bring this into FFXIV. One of the best things about the game is that you can do everything on a single character. With the $3 additional character fee, I'm not going to create additional characters just to be able to specialize in another craft. Think of the small linkshells or groups that might not be able to be self-sufficient if they can each only specialize in a single craft. What happens to those groups if their only master Armorer quits? Well they're shit out of luck then, guess you have to force someone else to either make a new character or choose Armorer as their craft specialization.

The game doesn't need this kind of restriction, especially not for the sole reason that FFXI had it. Let FFXIV be its own game and leave those restrictions in the past.

I don't want that, I change my mind fairly often over which craft I like so I just level them all. I much prefer people who choose to specialize by themselves than get lock which force to be specialized. Also, I have a group of friends who mainly play as crafters, they do all crafts and enjoy it that way.

Freedom of choice, be specialized if you want, let others be master-of-all-trades if they want.

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
    (Marvelous economics IQ test!)
