Please allow us a way to get rid of players who refuse to help.

First off i quite enjoy Diadem and while i dont agree with a lot of stuff in it i accept it for what it is but theres one flaw that can not be accepted.

You can not remove players, there is no vote kick and i cant wrap my head around why it was removed and you can very likely imagine what just happend.

I did enter diadem as always and one player didnt move ... sure ... maybe hes afk, so we start. By chance we found a chest ... sure enough THAT player rolls for it and by that point we did confront him ... the answer we got?

    "HAHAHAHA"

He continued to move every 7 min for a few steps so the system didnt kick him and we had no chance at all to remove him and were forced to carry him, we was first to hand in the quest for last mission tho.

In which world is this acceptable?

There is an easy way to get rid of them. If you don't approve of their "play style" go to the "Contacts" list of players you have interacted with through Duty Finder and Blacklist them. By doing this you will no longer queue up with them.

But there's a flip side to this, and I think this is why it was removed. I'll give you my example. I queue in like normal, help my party complete the obligatory diadem missions (it took forever, because no one was keen on the "teamwork" part, and impatient DPS kept wiping the party when they pulled too much for tank and healers to handle). Now, we finish everything, get our rewards and turn ins. I tell my party I'm going to gather now. I've done my part, I helped beat the missions, I have all the lockboxes/boss minions I could ever want, so I'm not gonna make myself play with these very frustrating people.

A few of them took offense to this. How dare I abandon the party when they want to do more Fates? (keep in mind, these are the idiots that kept wiping us in the first place). In the end they left and the rest of us stayed behind to have a fun little gathering party, loling about all the drama queens in Diadem lately.

Now, What do you think would have happened if the kick feature was allowed? I would have put in all that effort to help these idiots clear the missions, and then they would have kicked me because they didn't like that I wasn't following their orders.

Honestly I understand how frustrating it can be, but you can leave a party and queue back in in 5 minutes of less. You don't have to carry someone. Leave and then blacklist them.

I didn't really think of this until now, but rather than allowing people to be kicked (which, as pointed out, has it's own issues), they could just remove the 280 weapons (or allow the i275 weapons to be upgraded further) and (although I'm not sure it is entirely needed) lower the random gear level to around 250-255... Think about it, why are all these AFKers even there in the first place? Clearly they aren't interested in the content, so the only thing pushing them into the Diadem is the chance of easy BiS (or close enough to it) gear, remove that, the AFKers leave, people who actually want to do the new Diadem are left in peace, and everyone is happy (well, except maybe the AFKers who want free gear).

I would be great to have some kind of dismiss feature for people who purely do nothing. Yes it's fine if you only want to do the objectives then leave after, I'm cool with that (though I'd prefer to continue more). The problem I've been experiencing is certain players doing nothing from entering the duty and getting the rewards while everyone else does the fates etc. One person I came across claimed to have so many lockboxes, they needed to spend time opening them.... yet here's the troll thing, they were a tank but used the limit break, on themself, with no one nearby. It wasn't a great experience seeing as we couldn't kick them, and other trolls or AFKers just take advantage of it.

The only thing you can do is to report them for harassment that affects play. Not a difference of play style, they don't care about that, but uf they are deliberately screwing up your game by their actions they will look into it.

When confronted with someone who won't put in the effort but expects the reward, what I would do is simply waste their time.

I thought of this with the afk wintraders in the Feast. Someone's going to afk and throw the match? Fine, nobody fights. Match ends in a draw, and they get NOTHING. Same applies here. Not gonna fight but you'll roll on loot? Fine, get starved for loot. If it's up to me, I'll have a whole party simply afk as well, or leave you there alone. Have fun getting that precious loot solo.

It might seem petty, but no one gets a free ride.

I just ran into one of these players recently, who said he was only in it for the EM.

Everyone in the group called him out for it, and he gloated about it and insisted that he had a right to do nothing, which annoyed me enough to report him.

Sadly, the rather quick response I got from a GM clarified that what they're doing is indeed entirely permitted due to "free for all" nature of the zone.

The GM was wrong. You can AFK after the initial missions are completed but not before. AFKing before the missions are completed is classed as harassment & has been clarified by the GMs as being against the rules as it negatively affects the game play of the rest of the team.

I don't know how feasible this is as I'm not a dev/coder, but allowing the vote-kick feature to work until the objectives are complete, then disable it once the free-for-all/gathering portion starts. If possible, I think this is the best way to manage the issue. This way, you can still kick people who refuse to help, but won't be kicked for gathering, etc. afterwards.
