The JP community is less "cut throat" because they understand that playing their best makes the community better. The western communities are more into the Its My Sub And Im Going To Do What I Want camp.
The JP community is more organized because gaming as a hobby / recreational activity is taken more seriously in Japan. That and as a society they take a fundamentally different approach towards respect to group time and dynamics.i personally wish players were less cut throat over "differences of play style" and not go out of their way to be rude to others over it, using buzz words as baddie, noob, carry, mediocre.
Going out of your way to ruin another persons time over something arbitrary, that not everyone agrees with, is petty. It is stuff like this, that make me wish me and my g/f coulda stayed on tonberry. Least the jp community is more organised and less cut throat. Saddly my job sitation had us move or i wasn't able to get much done.
The DF on Japanese servers isn't treated as a testing ground and the "who cares it's just ----" mentality isn't prevalent because while the level or ease of content may be insignificant what they as players are treating with value is your time an issue that we currently have in the western community.
Nobody is asking for perfection, especially from those newer to content.
What they usually are asking for however is a modicum of effort, one shows that you feel the 3/7/23 other party member's time is just as valuable as your own.
Incidentally if the latest unofficial census is to be believed Tonberry has the lowest Savage Alexander clear rate of ALL Japanese servers while also having the largest western presence.
Food for thought.

Just....I love you for this, that's all.The JP community is more organized because gaming as a hobby / recreational activity is taken more seriously in Japan. That and as a society they take a fundamentally different approach towards respect to group time and dynamics.

Exhibiting proper etiquette and respect towards other players is probably the best way to ensure everyone is having fun regardless of their playstyle. Doing so typically makes you a welcome addition to just about any party as it encompasses everything players appreciate. Doing the opposite, as it implies, will take away the fun from others. Anytime I have read a positive thread talking about a great and fun group they were with, or one that was a total nightmare, I quickly noticed how each of these cases rang true, and it had very little to do with having BiS, or even optimizing every single GCD.
It is the exact same thing with any other group activity out there: Sports, squads, tandem activities, you name it. The fun is had and taken away in the exact same manner. I believe the majority of the community carries this expectation, and I know that I do as well. You have to sit back and reflect on if your idea of fun takes away the fun from others. If it does, you might want to show some consideration, and make some adjustments to your playstyle instead of trying to get people to change to yours. It takes MUCH less energy to do so.
I would agree with what many people are saying about people not even trying in content if this game wasn't so easy to begin with. What I am referring to is content excluding Savage raiding and EX primals. When entering causal content, expect to deal with people who play casually...
That said, I would love for more challenging 4-man repeatable content that scales with ilv, to ensure a certain level of difficulty.
I just wish people had the capacity to adjust their expectations to the content they are currently participating in.

If i join a dungeon and people are low ilvl, that is ont thing. But lazy is lazy and making excuses for it is a problem. You are joining a gorup activity and at least doing your part to the best of your ability should be expected. Ive stopped doing daily expert because I"m sick of getting melee whoa re simply autoattacking. We can see tp bars now, there is no reason a melee dps should be sitting at full tp the whole fight. The slackers accuse others fo elitism when really most of us would be happy with you playing like you give a dam regardless of your gear.
I have read a lot of these threads and one thing seems to be very common among them. This game has a hard time with communication between players. 90% of in dungeon issues can probably be resolved with proper party communication. Of course there are always exceptions such as blatant refusal to play properly or outright refusal to take constructive criticism. I feel though a lot of people either get into the solo mindset or as a party just feel like they dont have time or want to reach out to the offending person or persons. A little communication goes a long way.

Japan is also a smaller country, making it easier for people to organize and meet, even in real life if they want. I cannot count the number of times I had to stop something "early" because the time zones were causing me to be dead on my feet the next morning.

The big thing to remember is, this is an MMO and in MMO's everyone has their own feelings as what's fun. Some find fast efficient fun, some find slow and methodical fun, some find spending two hours in a dungeon just goofing off, chatting and taking screenshots fun. To each their own. It's why we can't stress enough for the player to look for others and friends that share their idea's of what is fun and what isn't.
