Chocobo help!

Ok, please read carefully because this may be a little tricky.

I currently have a rank 3 chocobo, and I put all its points into the tank path. But I want the healer barding. If I use a reagan pepper on it, and put all of my points to healer path. Will I get the White Mage barding? Please note, I am not interested in the other two bardings for now.

You don't have to use a pepper. Just put the rest of the points into healer till its maxed out and you'll get the barding

After your chocobo gets to rank 10 you can use a Thavnairian Onion every level to break the level cap for the chocobo. Max chocobo rank is 20 and you can max all three trees at that rank.

To both of you thank you. I was told originaly that those onions costed 800k gill. However im looking them up now. And whoever told me that was sorely mistaken.

It depends on your server, I've seen them fluctuate from 80k to 500k

Ah, well I just checked, and it seems 80k is the nprice for my server

It's true that you don't have to, since (with the help of some Thavnairian Onions) ranks now go up high enough to just continue until you get all the points you need. But the higher ranks take longer to level, so resetting your current points into the healer tree could get you the WHM barding sooner.

Besides fluctuations and server differences, they also (like many items) used to be more expensive when they were newly added to the game. If you or whoever you heard it from had seen an older discussion, it could just be outdated info.

Eventually you will get all, RANK 20 if you keep raising your chocobo, for now it's a waste of a pepper. Just going forward place points in the healer path.
