Somewhere in the middle might be nice, I don't understand all the network so a literal equidistant to the majority of players may not make the best sense for speed.. but I'd love to see it closer than it is now. Also have to keep in mind our friends to the north and south.

Saw no change from Japan to Canada (also west coast), actually maybe even worse sometimes, so the whole change last time was like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lol.

I don't think we have any infos on the location yet, so for all we know, they might just move it to the other side of the room so that access to the coffee machine is easier.

Pay attention to future live letters and interviews, tho', the question of "Where" is bound to pop up at some point.

Not many gaming companies move their servers to LA and there's a reason for that, but the topic would be pages long if we start to explain that. Also most likely you're with comcast or warner and that's your nr1 problem right there, not so much SE, I've experienced the same till I switched providers. Again complete different topic but no we do not know where the servers are going to be moved. Let's just hope it's somewhere inside the US but it might not happen.

Why is it my ISP's fault that their servers are in Canada? I can play WoW, Rift, BD Online, GW2, Destiny, H1Z1, and many other just fine as they all have servers closer to me. The DC for FF XIV NA is entirely too far away to get a good connection to. I even have ping issues at work where I'm working with the following connection lol...

It isn't me.

I'm in Seattle, on a 30/30 connection, and I have sub 100 pings most days. Its probably your ISP's routing tables lol. Especially if its 5-800 ms.

High bandwidth does not equal low ping.

I'm also in the Seattle area, and on Comcast, it's definitely a routing issue. My ping is so bad when it hits level3, I have to use a VPN to get a decent connection. Not sure a server move will do any good, but it's exciting nevertheless.

It has nothing to do with distance, if you compare world wide distance, Canada is pretty good. The problem with it being there is having to go though level 3 and they may not have a good internet service going to their servers there.

They could move it 50 miles and be a 1000 times better just because of having better services to connect to the servers.
