It would be nice to have a glamor log to save on inventory space.
I support this, yes.
Not sure if this would have conflict with a glamour log, my base assumption on how it would work does counter the desire Yoshida shows though:
I find it a little weird since they often push old / random content on players for things like Relic but who knows, maybe just not enough space to fully represent what he was feeling.USgamer: Has there been any thought about ways to make older gear usable to players in some fashion, outside of glamour? Things are always moving forward, leaving players with reams of gear in their banks for glamour sets alone.
Yoshida: Not really. If we were to do something like that in order to accommodate for older gear, people might go back to older content. Content that they had played over and over again, just so that they could obtain gear was the dropped in those areas. We want to avoid having people going back to older content.

Personally think a glamour log boosting old content would be a good thing, however I would suggest they tweak the loot system to be biased (higher %) to the jobs present so people who are going for BLM gear as a BLM don't get MNK gear when no monk is present. Perhaps they could introduce dungeon leve quests or something for the older dungeons, where when turning in the leve (after doing the dungeon) you can select an item from the glamour loot table.

He did say that in a recent interview but he also said this at PAX East during the Reddit interview:
"R: Players enjoy keeping many glamour sets which they switch between frequently. Are there any plans on making a "glamour log" system where obtained pieces of gear are glamorable without having the physical item, like the WoW transmog log?
Y: *Yoshida thinks for a bit* When asked is it physically possible, it’s possible. It’s not impossible but there’s so many different things that we do want to in terms of UI that I’m afraid the priority isn’t as high on our list. Leading up to 4.0, we are setting up the UI so that each job has their own sort of user interface and there are many different tasks that are on our priority list so it might take a bit more time before we can address it."
I don't think he wants people farming old content for the sake of gearing. If they wanted no one going into old content for Glamour options they wouldn't have bothered to have a material needed to craft Coil gear only drop in the Binding Coils. Infact, regardless the only way to access older glamours is usually going back and doing the older content.
Again, the idea of a Glamour log is nothing new. What I made this thread for was, since Yoshi P has said it is technically possible, to help show interest for the feature to be worked on as one of FF14's next features.
I know it's shocking but I do actually read OPs lol(deep inside is usually off rails slightly but I always read the first few pages at minimum).
I wasn't saying the response I quoted trumps yours (or was posting in a vacuum where I wasn't aware he asked for people to show support first), just that clearly they don't have it as high priority right now ("asking for player support to consider doing it", which means right now its item 99999) and one of the core results of a glamour system (usually) would also be something he's not really "for".
Was putting it into this thread since it has some relation to glamour system and is a current blip from Yoshida so is fair to reference.

That last sentence just seems so totally out of sync with what they usually say.I find it a little weird since they often push old / random content on players for things like Relic but who knows, maybe just not enough space to fully represent what he was feeling.Yoshida: Not really. If we were to do something like that in order to accommodate for older gear, people might go back to older content. Content that they had played over and over again, just so that they could obtain gear was the dropped in those areas. We want to avoid having people going back to older content. The whole reason things like relic quests and roulettes include old content is to ensure that people do in fact keep running older content, so that it never becomes obsolete. Obsolete content creates a major problem for new players who haven't run it yet, because it gets too hard to find groups for it. So long as older players keep going back to previous content, the newer players get a chance at playing the game.
Wanting to avoid having players go to old content just seems so totally backwards that I wonder if something got lost in translation (or outright mistranslated, like a missing negative that would reverse the meaning of the sentence).

A glamour log would solve the problems with inventory space by itself. There would be no need to keep old glamour which you might not use for the next few months.. but still dont want to discard it cause you probably spend millions on it while it was new (like Moonfire skins, Poncho stuff, etc).
I'd be happy to see this feature in this game, FFXIV needs it.
Let us all gather the crystals and summon the Glamour Log primal. Then they will see how serious we are about demand for this feature
Also, I nominate Redolent Rose and Yellow Moon as co-custodians for the Glamour Log, or at least participants in the unlock quest.
