Who said the person you quoted spends money on extra retainers? I know I don't. I simply suffer and find my resentment toward SE building toward quitting again. :/And here is exactly why they won't ever free up so much space in our inventories. As long as they are making extra money off of people buying more retainers for extra space for all the gear they don't have room for I think it's safe to assume they won't ever add a glamour log or anything of the like.
No one said they did or do. I'm just saying that so long as the option to purchase the extra inventory space remains, why would SE ever do something that would give us less reason to purchase that extra space and at no extra cost to us?
How about because it would make the game more playable and lead to fewer people quitting in frustration over how cumbersome it is?
That's certainly an optimistic outlook.
I'm not against the idea at all, I just don't see SE giving people less incentive to give them money. Also I don't think the number of people quitting over lack of inventory space would be enough to make a difference to SE.
I would like a glamor loh.
No im not willing to pay extra for it, It should be a thing for all characters.
How about because we already pay a fee each month for them to develop more content?
If you ask for a subscription to play your game, it's because you intend to use it as money to pay the developpers. Free to play don't have subscription, so they use premium shop and extra services to pay their developpers.
The model SE uses make me sick.
A free glamour log will increase revenue for Square-Enix.
More incentive to stay subscribed and rerun content to complete your collection through some fairly harsh drop RNG.
More Mog station purchases from people who want existing cash shop glamours as they won't clog inventory space any more.
More interest in weapon glamours which are especially hard to store in the armoury chest.
More interest in dyes, no matter how the system handles these (being able to save dyed versions would be nice but I'm not holding my breath).
Less strain constantly needing to develop creative workarounds for glamour hoarders via Armoire and inventory upgrades.
More interest in campaign items and stream/event costume rewards.
Present it in a way they will like.
To my mind they should totally follow the way Gw2 work for that. Gw2 handled it perfectly: unlocking dyes, with various rarity of dye making their price more or less expensive, and unlocking gear appearance, with token to use each time you wanna glamour.
Its worth pointing out that as I said in my OP that Yoshi P seemed to suggest this is something they would consider and was doable. Because of the work involved I doubt they would create such a feature and then make people pay extra for it. Something like this would be a major feature and selling point. I would also expect that any lost revenue from people getting rid of payed retainers would be offset by people buying Mogstation glamours they could now store in a log. If people getting ride of payed retainers was a concern I doubt they would be increasing our inventory next expansion.
From the latest PAX interview:
A glamour (or transmog) wardrobe is possible, and may happen once the current backlog of UI changes are made. This has been in demand since the stone age, and it’d be very, VERY popular.
