I feel you may be correct as this most certainly contradicts what they have said several times before about older content. Plus you only have to look at the roulette, level 60 only tomes, rewarded for doing level 16 content. That last sentence just seems so totally out of sync with what they usually say. So long as older players keep going back to previous content, the newer players get a chance at playing the game.
Wanting to avoid having players go to old content just seems so totally backwards that I wonder if something got lost in translation (or outright mistranslated, like a missing negative that would reverse the meaning of the sentence).
Agreed I thought it was weird too lol. My guess is that he meant it in context of the expansion experience and that what his response translates to is, not going to happen soon. Because when they release the expansion they want it to be all about the expansion and not about giving/doing a bunch of non-expansion content. That last sentence just seems so totally out of sync with what they usually say.The whole reason things like relic quests and roulettes include old content is to ensure that people do in fact keep running older content, so that it never becomes obsolete. Obsolete content creates a major problem for new players who haven't run it yet, because it gets too hard to find groups for it. So long as older players keep going back to previous content, the newer players get a chance at playing the game.

Otherwise I have no idea what happened but maybe translation issues lol.
I would really like a glamour log. As it is I feel that I cant really afford to keep cool looking sets just due to the space issues. Every major patch brings more gear some of which I would love to have around for my various jobs but just cant keep which I feel is a shame. It would be a lot more fun to actually be able to try to collect all the gear sets but without a glamour log it is just not feasible currently. As it is my bow collection is getting very unwieldy.
Just showing my support for Glamour Log. My inventory and retainers would appreciate it.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
I would most definitely enjoy seeing something like this added in the future. It's sorely needed.
Another though about this: Talked to a friend ingame and said that the Aymeric gear can now be purchased in the cash shop. Normally he wants everything in his collection but he said that he wont buy it because even with all retainers (also the cash shop ones) and one alt he just has no room to store it.
This is just a little hint for SE that including such a log might be even good for future sales.![]()
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
It would immediately be the best, most celebrated part of whatever patch/expansion it is included in.
+1
We really need this...Badly.
You have MY support!
**Didn't read the whole thread since that's 19 pages of stuff, so disclaimer that this may have already been mentioned**
I'd like to have the option to "save" a glamour set to your soul crystal, rather than imaging it onto gear. Most people who play tanks and healers for example, play multiple ones. I main SCH, but really enjoy my AST as well, and on occasion will play my WHM. The issue is, they all share the same gear, but I'd like them to all look different. Only way to do that currently, is to change my glamour each time, or use sub-optimal gear for my alt's sets (Like having my main set all 270 and my alts at 260, etc).
