Noob - expansions

New player here.. I started playing FF14 a little while ago, unsure about the expansions since I still run the original 'a realm reborn'. There is Heavensward and now the upcoming Stormblood. Would it be a good idea to get Heavensward right away before I get too high leveled? Does it have benefits for a noob like me?
I am planning on getting both expansions anyway, just wondering if I should get it right away. I haven't seen much of the map yet, don't want to overwhelm my poor archer grrl..

To unlock new jobs, level cap, areas, and item I would also story line completion unlocks new side quest like relics.

Unless you want to be an Au Ra, there's no added benefit to owning Heavensward so as long as you're level 49 or under.
Once you hit 50, you'll stop earning exp until you get Heavensward, even though there's plenty of level 50 content to do. Owning Heavensward doesn't give you any option to suddenly jump into newer content, you still must progress through normal means.

It's unknown exactly what benefits Stormblood will give people below the level cap at this time.

What they said~ I bought HW when I was around level 45 since I knew I was going to continue by then. Friend of mine bought it in the beginning because she wanted to be a lizard chick.

Without Heavensward you will not gain xp once you reach level 50 even if storyline award it.
You could start heavensward content anywhere from level 52 to 56 depending on your playstyle.

A lot of the people who frequent this board have level 60 classes. Helping newer players is easier if you know what youre talking about.

There will most likely be a Heavensward+Stormblood combo when stormblood comes out if you want to wait for that long but as the people mentioned above all the content that comes in heavensward is locked until you get the expansion.

There's no non-combo version, actually. All copies of Stormblood include Heavensward. Paying for HW separately is only for getting access to it prior to Stormblood's release.
