[HELP] unable to download patch files [30143] [25008] [20495]

at first i played the free trial on mac, and i decided to buy the windows version of the game, but when the launcher downloading the patch this error massage appeared "unable to download patch files [30143] [25008] [20495"
this always happenning to me, i already tried everything i read on google, like :
-changing DNS
-deleting stuff
-reinstall the game
-run as administrator
-i forgot the other one..
please guys i need your help, i would appreciate any help, i was so hyped with this game..

Hi! As with you, this problem is why I joined the forums. SE tech support has been useless (not necessarily to their discredit: it is likely a problem they cannot help you with even if they tried), and it is a recurring problem.

However, I noticed this problem occurs in two scenarios.

1. It begins during patch after an error.

Solution: reload backup. Final Fantasy XIV has an abysmal file integrity system. If any problems occur in general, have a backup handy. There is no way to fix a faulty file.

2. It may or may not have begun during patching.

Solution: wait a couple hours or days, presumably for ISP stuff to change, and it will go away. If you can make some noise with the companies controlling your Internet pathway that will help.

Alternate solution: Use a VPN.

Use command prompt to take a look at your network hops to the server. (Look up how to do it, it's just one line, and look up your World's IP address.) Check if there is LEVEL3 stuff in the path. If so, get a VPN anyway.

Cater for solution 1 just in case, and update your installation backup folder on every patch.

I'm sorry to hear this problem is ruining your new experience, but there are free trials of VPNs that might be able to help you.

I am having the same issue.
It fails at ~378 mb downloaded of the first file in the patch. Fresh install with expansion included. Same error numbers as the original poster ([30143] [25008] [20495])

I have been attempting to install the game for 3 hours now.

I have tried restarting both the computer and my router, as well as reinstalling and chosing both EU and NA during the installation step. Turning off antivirus and firewall has had no effect on the outcome either.

I just resubbed after replacing my fried graphics card, upon doing a clean install, i got this same error.....After extensive online serching...THIS fixed my issue, and i am currently downloading ff14 with no issues.....

>Control Panel
>Network and Sharing Center
>Change adapter settings (in left side menu)
>Right Click on your main internet connection and choose "Properties"
>in the window, find "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
>Highlight it and left click the "Properties" button that's below that
>Click "Advanced..." button at bottom of window
>Left click "DNS" tab
>In top half of window, left-click "Add..." button
>Add the following to your list, remembering to Click "Add..." again after each entry:
+4.2.2.2
+4.2.2.3
+8.8.8.8
+8.8.4.4
>When you see the 4 new entries in the list, click "OK" out of the windows.

I am now down to 7 minutes left on the download, before this, i was unable to run the installation download for more than a minute before i got the error.

Thanks! Following your advice to the letter got me past the issue. I did actually try using google's DNS earlier, so I suspect it was the first two you listed that actually fixed it for me. The download is way slower this time but slow and steady is so much better than fast and broken.

Alternate solution: Use a VPN.

Wow thank you so much. I had the same issue after this morning's small patch from maintenance.
Just turning on the crappy basic VPN I had installed as a browser addon and trying to download the patch again instantly solved all of my issues.

So easy and quick. ^^

Thanks for every feedback that you guys told me, but i'll be stopped playing this game, im wasting 2 days just to trying solve this problem, i give up..

I have a similar problem but with different parameters. I recently upgraded to a PS4 Pro and am trying to install the game. I get the same error message "Unable to download patch files [20512][25008][20495]". I initially purchased the game for the PS3 and migrated to the PS4 when I got my unit. As such I am unable to use the game disc to try to down load the game. I also purchased the Heavensward expansion. I have tried loading the games together and separately with the same results. I am hoping you can give me and the others some insight to this problem.

To the Devs.....will you, at least, acknowledge that you have even read this post and others with similar concerns. The silence that these concerns have received is deafening. While it may not seem all that important in the grand scheme of things it is of legitimate concern to us. I am sure that several of these players are unable to participate in the game til the matter is correct. As for me I do not like paying for something that I cannot use through no fault of my own.
