    Final Fantasy XIV uninstalled itself

    A couple of days ago, my laptop crashed while I was in the launcher, about to boot up FFXIV. I currently only possess A Realm Reborn. When I started up my computer again, however, Steam acted as if I've never had the game in the first place. I didn't think much of it and went to the folders to boot it up from there, but when the launcher started up, it began to download ARR again. I know I have the game in my folders, I've checked. I've had my laptop crash before, mostly only when I'm playing FFXIV, and this is the first time this has ever happened.

    Does anyone have any tips? Should I contact Square Enix?

    Sounds like a Steam Demo install, which auto removes itself from the steam list after awhile. How I resolved that on one PC was just go to the folder steam put it in and shortcutted the exe.
    Now if you bought the retail one, I would get rid of the "demo" install one for the full loaded one. Steam is wonky like that.

    Thank you for your advice! I unfortunately still haven't resolved my problem, though. I think Steam has misplaced the full loaded one somewhere, or somehow deleted it... I hope it's the former. Do you have some insight on where I could find the full loaded one?

    Check there or for a demo folder.

    I tried that, but when the launcher started up it still began to download FFXIV.

    I realized this may be a problem with the version checks, seeing as there are two of them, one from a more recent date while the other was before my laptop crashed. The recent one thinks I don't have FFXIV while I presume that the other one does. I would say the problem has been fixed, but the launcher isn't able to read the older version check for some reason.

    Just had the same issue i was on earlier today and i just tried to get on right now. It let me login then started first time setup and is now re downloading everything
