    Class with low keybinds

Newish player here. Im a lvl 27 Arcanist. I am trying to find a class that isn't crazy with key binds. I play with key board and mouse and once I get over 10 key binds I tend to struggle. Any tips on a class that would end game be lower on key binds. Im open to pretty much anything but tanking as the friend I am playing with is rolling a tank. ThankS!

All jobs end up having lots of keybindings to be used efficiently. That being said, if I were to recommend one, I would maybe say a healer job?

Have you tried playing with a controller? Might be more for you?

All classes have around the same quantity of useful skills.

I would guess BLM has the least amount of keys needed for rotation. Also I warmly recommend getting a MMO mouse if that's an option for you, makes handling multiple action bars much easier!

While i agree that the BLM rotation overall is fairly simple to learn(fire spells for damage, switch to ice to replenish mana, try to keep thunder dot going) while giving plenty of opportunity to improve(where to stand, when to buff, what to dodge versus shield through, stutter stepping), the keybinds are still fairly extensive. In end game content im using roughly 25 binds between damage(single target and aoe), buffs(my opener uses as many as 8 of these), and survival skills(sprint, teleport, and shields) - plus im counting these off from memory, so its possible im forgetting a couple. And thats with a handful of other situational abilities assigned but rarely used(either primarily useful when level synced down or only useful for solo play). The minimum for level 60 would probly be 15 keys(fire 1 3 4 bliz 3 4 thunder 1 3 swift eno ley quell rage transpose plus 2 aoes), and thats losing some practically vital skills to get your keys down.

I havent counted the binds for the other classes, but isnt bard a few less keys then some of the others? One of the healers might be fairly low as well(AST maybe? - speculation).

Best of luck finding something that fits your style!

The problem is the 3.x expansion aka heavensward. Every job got hit by "new" keybinds/rotations/none sense keys as I call them. Sure some classes got less than others, and it finally made pld into the new "oh you think you can dance?" character, switching from waltz (1,2,3) to Salsa (1,2,3,4 pause 5) but again the classes that got "less" buttons, are restricted somewhere else to "balance" that out.

It's hard to say whats easier or has less buttons, because what's maybe "difficult/overwhelming" for one person, doesn't mean it's the same for the other.

There's also some other factors that play a role, for example is someone playing on a pc or ps3/4, does that person have a simple keyboard and mouse or one of the gaming mice/keyboards etc. Things like that can make a game easier or more difficult at the end.

I would suggest any of the healer roles if we exclude the dps, and how the community feels about that we already know lol. Or take a couple of days and go into palace of the dead and look at the jobs that you might interesting and see if their "rotations" is anything you could live with, but don't get too used to it, because in 4.0 we allegedly will see major changes to the combat as well as the jobs and their skills.

I guess my question would be why do you struggle after 10 keybinds and is it perhaps just an issue of needing more practice or better keybinds (a lot of people new to keybinds use really bizarre binds, for instance)? As others have mentioned, every job has essentially the same number of binds. While something like black mage might be a bandaid fix, if it's possible to address the root issue, you'll probably be better off in the long run.

I would say one of the biggest difficulties with learning keybinds is just the fact that you're going to get more. The only real solution is you have to evolve once in a while. Once you start picking up more abilities than your starter bind can handle, it's time to assess what you need or don't need, what you need most, what you can group together, etc. The more familiar you get with the game/job, the better you're able to judge how to handle your space.

Arcanist (along with both of the jobs it can turn into) is perhaps the worst in terms of number of keybinds, simply because you're controlling both your own character's actions, and your pet's. A switch to anything else would at least remove the pet management part.

MNK has a pretty solid rotation and keeps the core of it in 3.0, so even with the new job skills, it's very manageable from a keybind standpoint.
