Help with FFlogs

Hey everyone,

I'm not actually a beginner but I'm trying to get more out of the end game and am working on my gear. Just learned about accuracy caps and stuff and trying out FFlogs but I'm still not understanding what I'm looking at.
So what is Perf. average? Like how perfect I am? With Ravana I have like 14% so this means I really suck?

Can anyone maybe help me figuring out how to interpret the stats and how to work on my dps? Thank you all in advance

The % is the percentile, the closest to 100 it is, the better. TECHNICALLY, 50% is the average, but anyone with a true understanding of their job will be around 75+. THAT BEING SAID, it is extremely gear dependent. You being at 14% doe NOT mean you "suck". On FFlog, you are mostly competing with people who are (or very close) to BiS gears. So that is important to keep in mind.

The info it does tell you tough is if you are improving and if you personally need a bit of work. After taking a quick peek at your gear, it's not optimal (you should definitely try to upgrade that i255 weapon), but you should technically be able to get higher. The next step is to figure out what you can improve; take a look at that Ravana fight, figure out your buff. Did you have grease lightning always up? how did you manage internal release? All those things can be seen on the interface of that particular fight.

I'm still working on my gear but it takes a while. The weapon is temporary until I get my Anima finished or if I get the Zurvan one.

I think I have GL3 up all the time but I'll have to check again for the times in between phases. Usually I start with Perfect Balance to get GL3 up quickly and pop Internal Release whenever it's up, firing Forbidden Chakra if it's available + I also try to keep Twin Snakes buff at all times. I yet have to get Potion of Strength... which I saw in a rotation online, so this is probably used a lot?

I haven't seen an option for writing PMs, where can I do that?

Maybe PM is not available on the forum, I never noticed before.

I cannot help all that much when it come to MNK rotation, as mine is yet to be 60 (I'm a NIN main). That being said, the fact that you understand the concept of you job is already really good. The fact you're looking online for rotation also show you should get the hang of it in no time. Keep practicing on a dummy, once it feels like second nature, it's all about practicing while doing actual mechanics. (Ravana is getting a lot of phase skip, so it maybe not the best for practicing).

When I come to pot, people only use it in Savage, really. don't worry too much about it. And they can be expensive. If you want some just for the principle of practicing your rotation with it, there's a NPC selling "baby pot" for real cheap. Might be what you look for.

One thing you can look for is compare your own performance to someone who's doing better (you can sort players based on their job and DPS) in same fight and then look at things like your activity % and actions per minute (these show if another player is for some reason able to have more DPS uptime in the same fight or is using more abilities within certain time frame than you are). You can also see what their most used actions list looks like compared to you (if they for example use certain skill 10 times during the fight when you only use it 5 times etc.). You can even check the full time line of what someone who's performing really well does during the fight.

For me personally, my most important method for self-improvement has been taking videos of my own playing and then watching them afterwards. During the fights it's hard to notice things like (in my case as SCH/SMN) refreshing DoTs too early, doing unnecessary movement or not taking advantage of opportunities for instant casts while moving etc. If you have a chance to do this, I certainly recommend it in addition to using FFlogs.
