So I made a thread about from tank to dps and as you know... it's so easy to level as a tank I just spam instances.. question is how do I level up as a dps I heard spamming floors 1-10 is the best way but that seems really tedious and long..

The best way in my personal experience is through doing the MSQ. Second, is doing dungeons, especially the last one that has been unlocked by levelling (or the closest one to your level). Third is doing FATEs, completing Sidequests around Eorzea.
Finally, floor set 1-10 won't be as rewarding unless you are nearly maxed out in your aetherpool. (The idea is to make quick runs of the floor set in exchange of the smaller amount of experience you receive at the end. It boils down to quantity of runs v.s. xp per run)
On the other hand, in my experience it was better to do floor set 51-60 with a pre-made party that rushes through the floor set, but of course that requires finding a party of players who have high aetherpool, and know the class they are entering with.

MSQ-Daily Roulettes-Palace of the Dead.
FATEs, hunting log, job quests, guildhests, leves(?), levelling duty, Challenge Log & Hall of the Novice should help.
Yeah if its your main job....
It's really easy. I just spent two weeks in game and already have SMN to level 48. If you sneeze wrong you'll level. All I did was try a little of everything.
I stepped into the game in Limsa with the intention of being an Arcanist... the minute I got in I was flooded with quests, so many I was overwhelmed, I think I spent the first couple hours doing nothing but quests. Someone handed me a Linkshell invite before I even completed the first round of quests. Almost felt burned out on them. I set foot outside the gates of the city and I was 4th level already. I ran around killing a few things, which leveled me again. Walked head long into a couple of FATEs that I didn't really know what they were other than they were fun and gave me a lot of EXP... ended that first day at 8th level.
Next day I went out and started doing some Main Story quests and the Arcanist class quests. which of course sent me to other zones other than the newbie fields. by the end of the next day I was at 17th level and completing the Main Story quest instances and my first dungeon. And running around killing things along the way and Stumbling into more FATEs, and picking up every quest at the neighboring towns. I also attempted a couple Levequests which went smoothly. By the end of the third day I was already at level 20 and asking my Linkshell how to get the Chocobo mount.
Its all such a blur because it happened so fast. I barely recall even being a newbie... I remember it being fun... I just don't remember it at all.
It wasn't like other games where you spend like a week at the first 10 levels, this was just zoom... wow... what happened? It was pretty cool... I just don't remember any of it.
Run MSQ while you wait in DF queues?
Do hunting log while you wait in DF queues?
Basically, do things that give exp while waiting in DF queues, and run DF groups when your turn in the queue pops.
I leveled a few jobs strictly in potd. Mind numbing, but I just put on a movie and go. And i made a fortune off those shards.
well and from this few jobs - how many of them can you really play on a decent lvl out of potd? ^^
the problem with potd is that novices lvl fast but they won't get in touch with their cls, their role in grp or the usage of their toolkits... this is one of the reasons why we meet so many unskilled player in mid- or endgame content... im not pointing on you Alien, but on the problem how potd is abusable and the outcome of this situation : /
I would recommend variety... like Ven said above - use DF, Fates, Hunts (+MSQ if still available). It's maybe not the fastest way but you'll end up with cls-know-how, situational experiences and way less bored grindy runs in potd. Although veterans and skilled player won't hate you if you move to endgame content... ^^

Levequests was the funnest way to me (whiled que'd for a dungeon at the same time sometimes).
FATEs, Leves, MSQ, Leveling Daily Roulette, Hunting/Challenge Log, dungeons near your level.
I personally enjoyed doing the FATEs since they could be done while waiting on a dungeon with decent exp. Sometimes I would just run a Fate group and those are fun too simply there are some crazy people on the servers :P
