    RDM for sure here. I rarely play melee or physical classes except when wanting a change of pace every once in a while. Something about spell casting just suits me. I'm operating on the assumption that Red Mage will become my new main going forward, with the caveat that if I suck hard at it then I will remain as-is with SCH/BLM/SMN being my triad of mains depending on what I feel like at the time.

    It has been difficult for me to make a solid choice between RDM and SAM since currently I am now moving more to Red Mage.

    Two of my most favorite play styles for Sword User Job is being released in 4.0 being Sword/Magic type and Sword/Speed type.

    In the end only one will become my Main Job.

    I am curious how the Red Mage LB3 may be because I picture it using Magic Exploding Swords.

    It's not really going to melee as much as jump in to do an occasional attack from melee then jump/move back out to normal caster territory. I.e. most of their cycle will be done as a caster with melee punctuation here and there. I.e. it's going to feel and play very much more like a BLM/SMN than a MNK/DRG/NIN/SAM.

    It may be true... But this time i want to hope that SE is going to make something cool..... Like cast spells till you are out of mp, then jump in and go melee till you have MP back, jump out and cast again...
    If its going to be just a blm with jumps and elusive jump, will be a damn waste

    Right now,I'm main Mnk/Blm so my gears can be shared with both new jobs.
    And who knows ? maybe in Stormblood I might change both of my main to SAM and RDM.
    We'll see.
    Gonna try SAM first though.

    they need to do something, MP and SP are to separated right now. Even back in FFXI you have abilities that would use both. Why give players both if they don't even use the one? Makes no sense.

    Whats the problem? Using MP for cast spells and use TP for melee actions just to take full mp again, and you can just give any EN-(fire/ice/lighting) effect to allow to use INT for melee attacks.

    What really makes no sense, is to have just a blm/smn's close that just jump in/out sometimes only cause they wield a rapier.....
