I think it's absolutely ridiculous that the arena doesn't reset and a single curious soul or a troll can ruin the whole thing by entering before people are ready. Utterly terrible design.

I think they may adjust this particular aspect in the near future. It's indeed impossible to save the event once the middle guy has spawned because the middle crystal wasn't defended. Everybody who enters is one-shot immediately, which is a shame really.Saw emergency mission on my first run. I had no idea what to do, seems like no one did. Wipe happened, no idea why and it was impossible to re-try as everyone got slaughtered the moment they respawned cause the mobs are circling around. I'm not sure if this is intentional or what but it's a bit harsh to be unable to re-attempt this considering the RNG layers behind it.

Probably is meant to be this frustrating by design.
The devs might have wanted the prerequisites to be as sensitive as possible if a weapon with the highest ilevel at is at stake.
The only time I see them "fixing" or "nerfing" anything to do with the Emergency Mission is at the absolute end of HW's life (if not after). I mean I've been surprised by them before, but not nearly enough to think they'll do something here. I honestly envision them with a grin on their face saying "working as intended," as if it was their intention from the beginning for the playerbase themselves to be the biggest obstacle to the ilevel 280 weapons.
I've done a total of one of these missions, and this exact thing happened. I have no idea if it was intentional or not. I certainly didn't think that it was a possibility, and it was probably just people not knowing. I was new to it too obviously, as were many of the people there likely. Our small group was dealing with our boss on our side platform just fine when I noticed a bunch of chaos happening in the middle right before we got swarmed by everything after everyone else died.
I can say that my experience in there - yes, there was a major issue with people running back in, splitting between different gates, getting instakilled, respawning, and doing it all over again. I don't think anyone was trying to troll, I think everyone was just over-excited to get back into the new thing where people weren't 100% using their heads about it yet.Been in two emergency missions today. The cause for the wipe was more so because people were not communicating and party members were not selecting the same entry point. Not sure what the rush appears to be to jump in but once you mess it up you can't really recover in my view. The amount of Salt that resulted from my second experience was quite disappointing.
I'd be very surprised personally if people were purposefully trying to wipe the groups and more than likely simply had no clue what to do. It's pretty hectic once things go bad.
Like you said: it's day one and learning. The proper preventative action is to learn for the next attempt. It's good to have some content to offer a challenge and learn over time instead of being immediately solvable for player engagement at times (depending on a number of factors of course - too much and it'll be a barrier and what's too much varies player by player.)Saw emergency mission on my first run. Yeah, I agree with this.Probably is meant to be this frustrating by design.

This update is one day old, and while a small percentage of intense players may have already done this 100 times, the vast majority of people will be new amd simply don't know what to do. No one is "trolling" or "ruining your fun."
Naaah they'll nurf it and up the drop rate on the weapons. Don't worry about it.Probably is meant to be this frustrating by design.

The one big issue is that people who know will say in /sh and /y "Don't rush in, wait a moment, let's talk strat" etc etc etc
and yet you see people running in and pulling the entire place or pulling middle mobs into the sides, dying and rushing back in, dying, repeat. It's not something you can brute force like that.
every time I have seen an emergency mission we just end up giving up on it.
