Unable to update patch files [11006][20819][20831][19900][1117]

I've been trying to update the game and it's simply not working.

Here are some of the things I have tried:

    - Deleted Patch files in [My Documents]
    - Changed FFXIV folder from "Read Only" in config (This setting does not appear to stay and has to be unchecked repeatedly, in short. It doesn't do anything)
    - Changed "ffxivlauncher.exe" to Windows XP Compatibility
    - Updated all GFX Drivers
    - Updated all Windows Updates
    - I have been running as Admin.

I'm seriously at a loss for what to do here. I've googled it but I can't seem to find an answer for my specific error code. The game was working fine when I last played about five-days-ago.

I would appreciate any help a Mod, or anyone else who might know how to fix this can provide.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

I just tried rebooting my router and making sure nothing was hindering the game and I don't see any problem. However, I'm still getting the error every time. It let's me begin the download each time I've tried to delete the patches folder from "My Docs" but then it reaches a certain point and I get the same error again.

Can't even begin to think of what else to possibly do. I don't want to have to reinstall because then I'd have to reset all my binds and settings too. : \

Try deleting java and reinstalling again. Java has security that gets in the way.

I tried what you said and Uninstalled "Java 8" from the Control Panel. Then I proceeded to restart my computer reinstalled Java and tried logging in to get the update. (Note: I did try to log in to the game before I reinstalled Java as well to no avail)

Unfortunately it did not work. Same thing as usual. It started the download (because I had deleted the patch files in My Docs) then after about 20 seconds it stopped and I got the same error again.
Thank you very much for the suggestion. I was really hoping it would work, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case. But I really do appreciate your time.

Are you running Windows 10 by chance? Temporarily disable Windows Firewall and Windows Defender and run the launcher then to patch.

Nope. I am using Windows 7 Pro x64. I have the Free upgrade to Windows 10 Pending, but haven't had the guts to pull the trigger. Not sure if I want it.

All these hours later and still can't figure this out. What a pickle, eh?

Edit: I guess I might as well that my Firewall is in fact Turned off, as well as Windows Protector. Still no good.

Hm, I had this same issue upon initial install of the game myself, all four error codes exactly as well, disabling firewall and defender resolved it for me. Do you have any other antivirus or firewall programs, like McAfee or Norton? Disable them as well.

As far as Windows 10, I would recommend the upgrade. I loved Windows 7 for the stability, but you will soon find yourself in a legacy status, especially come a huge Win10 update this summer.

Contact your ISP and provide them with port codes or do them yourself if you know how. I can't find the list where I wrote them down from when I called SE customer support, but do call them and ask for the port numbers and they will gladly give them to you. SE NA Local Number 310-846-0345 open during weekdays 8 pst - 6pst Good luck!

Thank you for the suggestions, unfortunately it didn't work and I had to work all day Friday so I didn't get home in time to call.
I exhausted every thing I could think of to get it to work.
Since SE Support on this forum was about as useful as nipples on men I decided to reinstall from scratch and I backed up all important character data and binds. That seemed to do the trick. The game is finally working again without any issue!

I truly appreciate your help though. It's nice that you were able to take the time and try and crack this problem with me. Hopefully it's not something I experience again.

You are welcome! It took me 3 days to install and I even told the guy at SE on the phone "This game better be worth it" lol (Glad it was!)

I didn't experience this issue again after initial install, all patches have installed fine with everything enabled - I hope yours trends identically.
