We can't hide it. There's a lot of dislike for the new Diadem offering iLevel 280 Weapons. I personally think it's garbage also but just sending hate won't solve the issue.
Hopefully a developer will see this thread but seeing how the last Diadem went, I have little hope.
How does Diadem affects the game? Let's say I'm new for a few months and I just got my first level 60. For about 95% of the players, iLevel is all that matters. Where can I get the strongest weapon?
- Alexander Savage Raid (iLevel 275) Requires to find a static. Requires you to learn mechanics and clear the boss fight. Once cleared, you have a guaranteed weapon in 8 weeks.
- Anima Relic (iLevel 275) Requires to find a static. Requires you to invest time doing various tasks which in general just require to play the game. PRO: You chose your stats!
- Diadem (iLevel 280) Doesn't require much preparation. You just go in, wait for an emergency mission. Can ideally just AFK and wait if you're that kind of jerk. Basically roll a die after each emergency mission and hope it's a weapon for your job. PRO: highest iLevel in the game.
Now, in a balance point of you. Regardless of your off-stats, a 280 weapon will have much weapon damage and main stats almost making it BiS guaranteed over any Relic/Raid weapon.
It takes about 2 hours for 1 Diadem. People will maximize it to have more weapon drops. From what I heard, it's about 1% to 2% per mission to get a weapon and it's random.
What does this means? Diadem is likely voiding Relic and Raid weapons if you're lucky. In my opinion. Any content which voids other contents because it is superior is flawed. Under no circumstance my best gear should be an RNG content.
To me, how Diadem was introduced and how it should be is an activity you and your FC do to have fun. The biggest rewards Diadem should be giving should be FC oriented such as FC experience, FC credits, furnitures, gils discount for housing perhaps? Diadem should not reward the individual. That's my opinion at least.
