No problem here. There was a PS4 update then I launched the game and it updated the launcher, logged in and it downloaded the patch no problems.

Says I'm at version 4.73. Still not updating the launcher or ffxiv.

I can't do anything on PS4 either.

FFXIV launcher is currently updating for me. Don't know what the problem was but thankfully it's gone for me. Hope for everyone else as well.

I play on PS4 and got up this morning and went on with my day as usual booted up the PS4 and everything updated fine. Got on around idk 12pm est.

I just had this for the last hour and tried all of the usual things, rebooting etc. Nothing.
I then pulled out the network cable and connected my PS4 through my phone connection via tethering, exiting and reopening the launcher. Bingo - patched launcher immediately started downloading. Fiddling with your PS4 network (especially DNS) settings should fix it if you know what you're doing but if you're lazy connecting via a different network should do the trick.
Once you have updated the launcher (tiny file size) you can reconnect normally and the main patch will download properly and let you play.
If possible try to log in from another internet connection, VPN or tethered connection through a cell phone to download the patch. I had this issue ALL THE FRIGGEN TIME where I lived last.
For some reason certain games (not just XIV), will not download properly because of the route the data is sent between client and server. Altering this path by using another form of connection generally seems to fix that issue.
It's worth a shot. Good luck.

Hmm. I've never had this problem before and I've been playing since PS4 release. The internet in our area went out the other day so maybe that might have something to do with it. Hope it doesn't happen again. I only have the one internet connection to hook up to.
