If the formula is still the same during stormblood will you still be playing or leave

Let's be realistic aside from the hype of Stormblood, we will all buy the game, it will be fun for a few months (hopefully) then chances are we will be back to the hamsterwheel of beeing burned out by doing the same things over and over and over again from what has been presented so far.

Quality of life improvements are fine but how much will it help the actual content of the game where most of the stuff is lacking.

If stormblood continues to offer nothing more but empty maps when all your jobs are at 70 will you still play?

Weekly caps on tomes repeating exactly everything we have now, will you still play?

Gears becoming useless every 3-6 months and everyone can obtain an Ilvl close to what you worked so hard to get, will you still play?

Dungeons/content continue to be a faceroll pretty much through the entire expansion like it is now aside from savage content, will you still play?

Nerfing content after a while punishing players over and over again that worked so hard to grind stuff for relics so everyone else can catch up, will you still play?

Staying. This isn't new to this genre, and the game isn't going to change. Its literally just expanding what we already have, and I like what we already have. That's why I'm playing it and pay for it every month.

If you don't want to play the same game you've been playing thus far, buying and playing the expansion isn't going to help you. You would be better off just playing a different game altogether.

Agreed. It's an MMO so you can't have New things every week or month. There Will always have a moment where you have done everything and just need to farm to get the top gear. IMO If you want changes and not doing the same thing for long, better play offline games that have beginning and ending.

Yeah idk why people keep expecting xpacs to change the game's style. I mean xpacs add things to the current formula, not toss it out the window and replace it. There are things id like to see added and tweaked but the base of the game is something i enjoy alot, and quite frankly I might end up more irritated if stormblood came out and it was an action rpg instead lol. (if they add a "action based" job later/for stormblood I do not mind but I will flip a lid if they would make it all different)

Problem is, HW added nothing to the actual progression, and we fear Stormblood also won't. You don't need to rely on mandatory tomestone farming and replacing gear every 6 months to keep the same game, especially when expert dungeon gear is totally useless.

Actually Heavensward did. The first expansion of a game likely never changes up the formula, it simply evolves on the content, and makes it better. It's a bad marketing plan to mess with a good thing so swiftly. I also fail to see how we didn't get anything new. If you went back and played patch 3.0 there would be a lot less to do, and things would feel off. If they still don't change it up by 5.0, then we've got a problem.

The only difference between now and 3.0 is maybe that stamp book (which can be done unsynced so can finish in a day) and Palace of the Dead (which I only did once and never went back). People are still doing the exact same thing running expert dungeons or raid then the potential crafting you do or levelling a jov. Which was done all in 3.0.

You had new content, sure, but the progression was almost the same as ARR. Uncapped tome gear through roulettes, upgrade through hunts, then capped tome gear, and upgrade through 8-man endgage, with 24-man gear on the same level as basic capped level and late capped gear upgrade. While dungeon gear is uselss.

After a little thought, let's be fair...HW did change something. It made tomestones mandatory for unlocking future access.
Back in ARR, with dungeon gear alone, you could unlock access to everything out of Coil. Quest, GC and vendor gear gave you access to 2.0 and 2.1 dungeons that dropped ilvl60 gear, which would give you access to Labyrinth of the Ancients, etc...

In HW, Neverreap and Fractal drop i160 gear...which unlock nothing at all. Same for Antitower/Amdapor and Xelphatol/Gubal.

I'm not pre-ordering Stormblood until I see what the combat changes for 4.0 entail, but if the general content format remains the same, I'll leave. I left before, came back a couple of months ago to experience the Heavensward storyline and (possibly) Stormblood's initial storyline, and there won't be enough to keep me around after the 4.0 content is finished if SE's update cycle doesn't expand.

Why are statements like this necessary? Your first sentence is fine and on-topic, but for pete's sake, people need to stop suggesting that those who aren't happy with the overall direction of the product leave. They can make their own decisions. Some do leave, some provide feedback for a time and then leave, and others stay despite feeling the title could be much better. Everyone's aware there's an option to cancel their subscription; we don't need it pointed out to us.

I was making a statement that the game we are playing right now isn't going to change simply because an expansion is coming. It's going to be the same exact game it was before, just with more dungeons, higher level cap, some new jobs, and more places to go. Anyone that wants the game to change and to be a different game when stormblood releases would be better off playing another game, cause that isn't happening. It's not meant to be rude, just enlightening.

To be honest though, the OP's post made it seem like he was completely and utterly tired of everything that encompasses this game, and if I were him, I would choose to play another game rather than buying an expansion and continue paying for a game on the monthly basis that I'm not having fun playing. He doesn't like the grind, he doesn't like the areas, he doesn't like the gear, he doesn't like the dungeons, and he doesn't like the difficulty. Would you continue playing a subscription based game that you hate so many of its core factors? or would you find another game to play that you actually enjoy?

It's not mean to tell someone to stop playing a game they hate playing.
