Thread: New Player Got Kicked During Lost City of Mhach BY A MENTOR

I was just playing Lost City of Mhach, and watched as my friend got kicked out of a raid for not understanding how Ozma works. The person that kicked them out was a mentor of all people. I tried to explain to them how wrong this was, and yet all they did was stand there silently. They knew what they did, and they seemed to not care. This kind of behavior needs to stop. Do people not want an active player base? How are we going to do that if people treat each other this way? It makes no sense.

It can stop, report him for bad mentor behavior and he will lose his mentor status forever.

Not saying the mentor was in the right at all, but:

1) takes majority vote to kick someone,
2) they are your friend- did you coach them?
3) were you in a voip to help with mechanics?

Again, not justifying what the mentor did (assuming it was the mentor because you cannot know who initiated the actual kick), but if I see someone, the same person, doing things like constantly setting meteors in a place where two will land on each other and have a good chance of wiping the raid, after repeatedly telling them left or back instead of right, my patience will wear out and I will remove them.

I was expecting this to be another one of these parody threads.

I know because the person admitted it. Yes I was coaching them the whole time.

But seriously No More Mentors.

And this is a big reason why I don't raid unless with 3 or more members from my FC. Even if I wasn't the one kicked, I would have raised such a stink about it, that I would end up getting kicked as well.

For most new players, even if you've read the guide, you still don't know the fight. Jeezus, I wish I had a dollar for every time I failed a mechanic that I read about. I need repetition to get good at something. Reading about a mechanic makes me aware of it, learning how to actually avoid it involves trial and error. Every mentor in this game should know this, and be the last person to vote kick anyone. Mentors should probably lose the ability to vote kick completely. They are supposed to be mediators of such situations, not initiators.

Worst of all, this person gives mentors in general a bad name. Soon, people will see that crown and automatically assume he/she is an elitist douche. That's where it's headed.

I think SE should change the mentor icon to something horrendous, so that the special snowflakes using the mentor symbol for elitism won't be attracted to it.
