FREE COMPANY LEVEL 1 CHARACTERS SHOULD NOT OWN HOUSES

Housing should be available to ALL if they have saved the gil to buy a plot and build a house, especially those who have never owned a house and would like to. On Gilgamesh, there are many houses of all sizes owned by “placeholder” secondary free companies, i.e., a secondary tiny free company to the main (or large) free company with seldomly disguised names or monikers with placeholder Level 1 characters as the leader. Why is this allowed to continue? Square needs to forbid a Level 1 of any free company from owning a house. Then we'll see how quickly those fake alternate free company houses all of a sudden have leaders that are lvl 50 with proper rank, if they even bother. It is ruinous greed. For what? Bragging rights? This behavior ruins the game for others who would like to have a house and experience the housing part of the game. Housing needs to be fair for all.

It's a heck of a lot easier to get level 50 than it is to get your free company to rank 6.

I've seen FCs get to rank 8 in like 3 days or less. The real challenge is getting a FC estate in general in a well populated World, not the rank.

You can also get to level 50 in 3 days or less if you grind PotD too...

The challenge also isn't FC specific though, it's in finding a house that's available. At the point you can pick if it's FC or private, it's not like FC's have a harder/easier job finding a house.

You can't just create a level 1 character and buy a house, it has to either be levelled up or their FC levelled up. If there was a requirement that a FC owner couldn't be less than level 50... it wouldn't make any difference. People would still create 2nd characters and level them up to 50 instead of levelling up the FC to rank 6. Of if they wanted an FC house, they'd just do both.

So it sounds like they don't have a problem with people owning multiple houses so what's the issue if they levelled up an FC instead of levelling up a character?

The word ALL in my first sentence encompasses people (free company and personal) who have never owned a house and desire to experience the housing part of the game as Square intended it to be used. It does not include the ones who abuse the system to own a multitude of houses with their duplicate free companies and Level 1 Leaders. As Clethoria stated, it is very difficult on a heavily populated server to even obtain a first-time home for a free company or for personal use. My good friend, who has played since beta and finally has enough funds for a mansion for her free company and who has never owned a house, has hardly a miniscule chance of finding one. My wish is that everyone play housing the way it was intended, and don't use exploitations or have greed be the motivation. I honestly believe that Square will not take away anything from existing housing owners. My only hope is that Square implements better rules and/or ToS guidelines with the expansion.

My good friend, who has played since beta and finally has enough funds for a mansion for her free company and who has never owned a house, has hardly a miniscule chance of finding one.

Unfortunately even if they made changes, the chances of finding a mansion would still be slim on high population servers. Even in the new housing area it appears they've still kept to the 3 mansions per ward plan and a lot of people are looking to upgrade personal houses and FCs to mansions. Only 288 mansions will exist per world with the new housing area added.

This is why I feel that FC housing should require the FC purchasing the house to at least meet the requirements to start an FC, in order to maintain the house. It might not amount to much, but it would at least cut down on the players doing this unless they were willing to pay for multiple accounts just to placehold a bunch of houses.

Not necessarily... they just need the temporary assistance of someone on a different account to add 4 characters on a single account. At which point the temporary person can transfer ownership and leave the FC. All 4 remaining people would then be on a single account and still meeting the minimum requirements that were needed to start an FC. Or they could just get 3 friends to make an alt and leave it in their FC.

Sorry not trying to be annoying, but just trying to point out even if such restrictions were put in place, they don't really do anything.

I would like to add that you have to be lvl 30 something to make a FC. If it is a level 1 character holding a fc that owns a house, someone had to level the fc plus a level 50 with the GC rank had to purchase it. You can't buy a fc house on a level 1 even IF you are the fc leader. I understand its hard to get houses on populated realms. I have been on some of the highest pop realms, so I know and I feel you.
