The Great Debate on Progressing through Raids without voice chat and with voice chat

Hi community i want to get your take on this subject on the situation of raiding in final fantasy 14.

Share your experiences of Raiding Extreme and Savage Raids without using voice chat services and with using voice chat services.

Share your successful and unsuccessful stories of not using voice chat and using voice chat during Extreme and Savage.

Keep in mind the game was built with keyboard communication and long dungeon battle timers to successfully accomplish each challenge.

I'm not entirely sure what the debate here is to be honest. IMO it's just more fun to raid with a voice chat client on. Hell even dungeons are more fun because I can bant and fight.

Oh yes soooooo much fun listening to the drunks, the kids whining, people blasting music, guys hitting on girls who play, etc. Thanks but no thanks. I have had my fill of voice communication in other mmos and will no longer use it.

I mean idk why you're on Discords that have all that shit going on at once but I generally keep to smaller chats. In dungeons it's just me and a friend talking shit to one another, and in raids it's just me and seven friends talking shit/talking mechanics when we're learning.

You can coordinate faster/better with voice chat (dynamically, macro for certain stuff is better), this makes everything easier. Con not everyone wants to do the hoops to get voice chat running, and not everyone has equal hoops they have to jump through (time of day, language, phone with app or pc with program, buy acceptable mic, find a quiet area / learn to use push to talk, be heard and judged for your voice - although if your raid group is going to not like you for that then perhaps you shouldn't be raiding with them lol).

If you want to do better easier then you get voice chat.. It's not impossible of course - like the whole parser no parser thing, but it simply allows faster therefore better dynamic coordination. Your fingers are already pretty busy. Although for easier content like regular dungeons its just really a social experience not much to worry about.

Fun thing to me is seeing the chatty voice chat vs deathly quiet, or even better when someone made the rule no talking but call out every little thing - included the most obvious. Tornado! Uh, yeah - only way you can't see it is if you're afk dude. lol.

Hit and miss with random people, also probably the moments people are most afraid to join in due to judgement (or not in an environment that a mic would be acceptable). IMO if you like your peeps, voice chat is great.

I don't think discord makes anything easier at all. It is the exact same thing as if someone knew the fight.

So everyone who knows a fight is incapable of derping? Even the best make a mistake and having someone call something out can make a difference.

I never said that.... I said voice chat is useless if you know the fight inside out. Also.... nearly all a12s voice parties don't go past phase 1 and you can try it in pf yourself
