Probably stupid idea: Separate the FC workshop from housing ?

Essentially my idea comes down to removing the requirement to own an FC house in order to have a workshop -- every other requirement (having a functional FC, being able to set the access rights per member, etc etc etc) would still be enforced as is currently the case.

It's not a stupid idea. It's a sensible idea. Lack of housing shouldn't be holding FCs back from having access to content that other FCs have access to. Maybe don't entirely separate it - keep the existing workshops and airships in FC houses, but add a common area where FCs without a house can use - like a bought workshop area in some common zone.

I think this is a fantastic idea. Sadly we won't be able to have it since the people who do already have access to it don't want others having access. It wouldn't be very good for their MB monoploies.

Sensible idea. Just have the door in our FC house also work to teleport you to the same place so it's just as easy to get to. But if you're in a group with a FC member you should be able to choose to enter their workshop, just like you can now if they need help. I've helped quite a few people in small FCs construct their airships and honestly, this new idea would be a lot easier than navigating to their individual houses through Lavender Beds.

As for Diadem, we don't truly know what it's going to be like until tomorrow.. I would realistically wait for tomorrow to check it out, and see what we can/can't do with it.. It got reworked for a reason so perhaps the accessibility has changed as well.

Given that the new zone is supposed to handle 3 alliances and some of the new content is supposed to use 4+ parties, hopefully access is less restrictive than it used to be.

He's not asking for non-FC workshops, he's asking for non-housing workshops. Basically, like a garage that takes you to a garage instanced for your free company. I can get behind this idea.

As part of a small, closed, "friends only" FC on Hyperion I can get behind this 100%. It sucks that we can't access a ton of content, because there is such a massive housing shortage.
