Idea: Housing Exterior - Lawn

I think it's about time we are allowed to edit the ground in our yards. I think it would be really nice and it could probably be set like buying a Flooring item in your home.

It could be like this:
-Organic Lawn
-Inorganic Lawn

With this there could be organic/inorganic lawn specific housing items.

Example:

• Lupin/Sunflower/Oriental/Dandelion Plot - Organic Only

• Trees - Organic Only

• Growing Cart/Spot - Inorganic Only

• Assorted Potted Plants - Inorganic Only

Growing Carts/Spots would be items that are open to have plants put in them so players with an inorganic lawn can still have trees and stuff. Kind of like the decorations imfor Little Ladies Day with all those potted plants.(Inspiration from here!:http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ms-Are-So-Cute)

Organic Lawns(Example)
-Default
-Medium grass
-Long grass
-Autumn Grass
-Snow
-Leaves
-Mulch

Inorganic Lawns(Example)
-Concrete
-Marble
-Cobblestone
-Sand
-Metal plating
-Brick
-Gravel

Not everyone has a grassy lawn or a lawn at all! But the same green grass gets old.. And this would make it easier to have snow-covered lawns : p

+1 to OP idea. I would like one with dead leaves and soil (pretty much brown patch) so I can setup a graveyard theme when we get enough spooky outdoor furniture.

I would LOVE new lawns. My preferred zone is Mist, but the lawns are just plain green, same with Goblet. Then you go to Beds and the ground is so pretty with its little flowers and being more than just green. And not even a large degree of variation of green in the texture.

I don't think it needs to get that complicated (why would you want to make it so one version of your yard locks you out of different features? :/ ), but it'd be nice to be able to choose between, like seasonal things. One person mentioned being able to have an autumn leafy pattern instead of plain grass. What if you could get snow for winter? golden grass for summer? I'd be happy if we could just change the colour/texture like any flooring option (the flowery grass of arbor flooring would be cool).

But usually I just design my exterior around our current grass lol, so it's not a huge loss without it.

YES. Winter events are so odd when you have snow-covered trees and mounds but the grass is otherwise untouched.

Only because it wouldn't make sense to have a tree coming out of a metal plated ground or something xP. SE seems to want to keep some sort of realism to it all and that's why they had all those trees in carts for the Little Ladies' Day

This is a great idea. I really like the grass in Lavender Beds but it would be nice to change it up to snow, fall leaves, etc.. without having to put down snow piles galore.
