Need help between war and pld

So I got Drk up to 60 and I want to level a new tank. However I really like paladin and marauder. I believe paladin is at 32 and marauder is at 27, what do you main and why?

Well, currently I main a rogue. I'm a long time WoW player and I always got stuck playing either the healer or the tank. It was fine for a long time. I love both roles, but after six years, I wanted to kick butt too.

So, when I recently returned to FFXIV, I decided to focus on dealing damage. I desired to start a new character so I could reexperience the story arc. I had never played a rogue before so there you go. Sandi Kandi was born!

Now, in the past, I played a paladin. It's easy to play and I like the idea of mitigating damage rather than taking damage and healing my health back.

I feel Flash and Provoke are good, solid tools for tanking, while Convalescence is one of the best cool downs in the game when used properly.

Subjectively, paladins feel more like tanks than warriors. When I play my marauder, it feels a lot like when I play a damage dealer. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, I like it.

However, when I'm in the mood to tank, I fall back to my paladin. It's just something about that shield and sword that makes me feel like I can take on the world with the help of three friends.

I am a Paladin, haven't tried the other ones yet as I'm just starting out. I am interested in trying them, but so far I really enjoy the paladin. I normally go towards DPS in most games, but I needed a change and haven't been disappointed with it yet.

Any tank is capable of tanking any content. It is designed that way for a reason. As such, groups choose thier tank on the only meaningful metric left to them. The highest dps combo is DRK/WAR. It doesn't matter if they buff paladins defensive abilities in SB, as long as they are behind DRK in dps due to the easy class tax. I would level war first, as you have already lvled drk, paladin is just going to feel like a boring version of it.

i think he is meaning the capacity to keep both storms effects and high DPS at the same time, that huge extra DPS WARs have in OT can be call utility in some way bcs are a thing that the other 2 cant achievement.

maybe but it would not be the "most DPS Rotation" theoretically.
Only Storm-Debuff that gives 10% more Slashingdamage, the other one is a good support but does the least DMG of all Combos and doesn't increase anything ^^

No is not, but pay that 40 that extra potency per combo for better MT hate control and raíd mitigation to help healers to have better Windows to do DPS is far better in my opinion.
Using butche combo can be a problem at the end reducing raid DPS is forcé MT yo dealt more agro combos

Level both.

They all share gear at 60 anyways so have some fun and figure out what you like more, if you get into raiding before SB roles around find out what your group needs and help fill that role.
